Service was good & food was excellent

A friend had eaten here years ago and said it was the best lobster he had ever had. So of course when I was in the area I had to try it out. It seems to be several different venues in one. The Barker Tavern, where I ate is a 17th-century house, they claim it's one of the oldest English... read more

This visit tried to get into pub area, less expensive menu, but too crowded. Very nice staff brings us to main dining room and allows us to order from pub menu. Lovely place, food just so so though. Many very nice aspects to this resturant but for some reason just not great. I've eaten here on numerous occasions, not my... More

Nice atmosphere, pricey menu and the poor waitress was overworked. Our meal took a long time and was average. Not sure we need to go back for dinner, maybe just drinks.

The Barker Tavern is a charming, attractive, easy access building with excellent food. Famous for its thick cut swordfish, the other entrees are also generous and delicious. The dining room has an intimate feel; it's easy to converse with one's company, and the drinks are great. The Pub is fun with the same entrees in smaller portions. We have attended... More

My husband and I frequently dine in the Pub. The food is consistently good, the drinks great and the service excellent.

Been eating here for many years. Great decor, excellent service and really good food. You can eat in the bar also - really nice on a winter weekend afternoon. Swordfish is the house special - a very moist thick piece of perfectly cooked fish. Two thumbs up.

Once again, Barker Tavern did not disappoint. Their clam chowder was superb as usual and the rack of lamb could not have been cooked any better. And of course, the hot fudge sundae (which was not on the menu) was actually made with hot fudge and was decadent. We celebrated the end of 2014 with relatives and just may have... More
