Dinner food, with no foo-foo

Best eats in town. This throwback to the 50s diners is the real item. Usually busy. Don't let the cashier/host put you off. The food is like mom used to make, comfort food. Great prices. Giant servings. Specials that satisfy. Where else can you get a "potted meats" dinner. Desserts to kill for... read more

Stopped in to the Agawam diner today for a bite. Since I was alone this time, I sat at the bar counter. My server Andrea was great. I had a cup of coffee in front of me within 30 seconds along with a smiling welcome. I looked at the menu briefly, but quickly settled on the open face chicken pot... More

The Agawam is a local fixture in this area. If you are giving someone directions, it seems those directions always revolve around the Agawam. Everyone knows its location. This is diner food so if you are looking for nouveau cuisine this is not for you. A visit here is truly an experience. You will find patrons from every walk of... More

My son and I love visiting an eating in old diners. This one is a classic and the outside looks so inviting. Inside the decor of the 1950's continue and we give the old place an A! However, the food could be better. We have had better. Toast was soaked in lard and eggs overcooked. The biggest thing was the... More

Three of us stopped in for breakfast on a weekday. It was busy so we ended up sitting at the counter, wrong move, the round immovable stools are very uncomfortable, wait for a booth. That aside, breakfast was good with decent sized servings at a good price. Considering how busy it was we got our food fairly quickly.

Best diner on US Route #1. I have eaten at most of the great diners in MA and NJ. The ones with 25+ years or much more in the business. I've had all the classic dishes and, off course, every variation of pie. I am experienced and jaded. Today, I ate at the Agawam Diner and was positively stunned by... More

It's first come first served - or you can always sit at the counter - at the Agawam Diner in Rowley, Ma. Fortunately (or unfortunately for my waistline) the Agawam is right on the way to and from work - and isn't too far to drive to on weekends. The locals - from the teens to the senior folk -... More

The Rowley diner is a flashback to the 50's & 60's. It offers very good basic diner food and the dinner specials are worth trying. Many of these dinners are a good value and suitable for solo, couples and family. There are many regulars here and often there is a short line to get a table. Take out is readily... More

Yes it's old school. Yes the waitresses are great and it is a real diner. But the food is terrible. Stick to the breakfast menu.

Hadn't been back here in a long time (5-7 years ago), and it hasn't changed...that's good news! Had lunch there with the family...wish I could remember the server's name--she was hilarious and has been there 30 years if I remember correctly. The sweet butter rolls we started with hit the spot. I had a burger topped with mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes... More
