Great food! Great service, not just your waiter but all the waiters help out others! Nice Teamwork. Atmosphere is wonderful. Very clean. Resonable prices. It was our first time going here, there are no good mexican restaurants near Newburyport area that are good. But, this will be our new spot!!

Monday, July 21, 2014, myself and 2 friends went to El Tapatio restaurant in Rowley for lunch. One of us got cheese enchilada, another of us got chicken fajita and I ordered beef fajita. Well to our great surprise my friends chicken fajita was made with chicken roll, not even fresh chicken and my beef, which the waiter called steak... More

The food at El Tapatio is not bad. It's one of the only nearby Mexican eateries, but there isn't anything special about the food or atmosphere. It pains me to say it, but I'd rather drive 30 minutes to Chipolte. Perhaps I just don't have a strong appreciation of authentic Mexican cuisine? I do have to say pricing is good... More

I had been craving mexican food all week so decided to try El Tapatio. I was disappointed as soon as I sat down and they brought the chips and salsa to us. The chips were very thick and the salsa did not have much flavor. I only ate two or three chips they were so bad. Then the meal came... More

Went on a snowy Wednesday night. Not crowded at all, yet in the hour we were there, saw a constant turn over. The Cadillac Margarita was a great value at $9.00 and it knocked me on my behind! Usually margaritas at restaurants taste watered down, definitely not this place. ordered the shredded beef chimichanga. It was alright. The rice and... More

A friend told me how great this restaurant is two years ago! Well, I finally tried it today. I ordered the Enchiladas Tapatio because I'd had nothing to eat since 8am. It was 2:30pm. I was absolutely starving! This dish has three enchiladas (one each of chicken, cheese and shredded beef) with three different sauces. It is served with refried... More

El Tapatio's is our new go to for Mexican. Being from Gloucester, it can be a bit of a hike....but it is sooo worth it! The food is delicious, portions plentiful and service wonderful. I like how the manager comes by each table and checks in with diners. I didn't give 5 stars for atmosphere only for one reason: the... More

Having traveled numerous times to the Southwest, I am somewhat particular about my Mexican food. I have heard people rave about local places that I found to be bland and generic. El Tapatio is in an elite category - a Mexican restuarant that serves authentic, fresh dishes, that please my palate. I am so happy they popped up on the... More

The Best Chicken Tortilla soup I have ever had. I try and order in all restaurants but most don't even serve it. they give you so much food you cant possibly eat it all. this is the best Mexican food around the north shore. Try it you will like it....

Was so excited to have a local Mexican restaurant open but was very disappointed. Had steak burrito. Meat was obviously some left overs. Food is not fresh. Sorry...
