We were headed to a concert in Rockport and had dinner at the Grand Cafe. It's an old waterfront inn, and I am guessing there is a great view during the day but we couldn't see anything as it was dark. There was beautiful piano music playing outside of the restaurant which we really enjoyed. The restaurant was pretty quiet... More

I posted over on the Inn's page, but overall brunch was awesome. Might be the best on the Northshore. Really impressive. And don't skip the Bloody Mary bar. Very cool.

Sigh .... this happens. A party of 17 showed up a little before us and the restaurant was noisy and the service was slow. Too bad that it was a special night for us. My lobster pot pie was good none-the-less and I bet that under different circumstances they do much better.

The Grand Cafe in the Emerson Inn is a quiet, cozy room, although the lighting is a little low for reading the menu. The food is very good, nicely presented and efficiently served. My meal did not come out with the potatoes as described and i had to bring this to the waitress's attention. She returned with the cook's apologies... More

We actually stayed in the Inn, but did not like this dinner at all. We ventured out the second night of our weekend in search of better food. The menu is limited, the food was blah, and the air wasn't on for some reason so it was muggy and hot. I would not eat here again.

This is a small intimate place. You may sit inside or on a porch. We had salmon and sea bass. The salmon was was baked on a cedar plank and was excellent. The sea bass was a little over cooked but was still fine. The server was polite and courteous. We looked at the dessert menu and it was varied,... More

My husband and I ate here for the one and only night we were in Rockport. We chose this place for the "by the sea" location and heard it was a good place to eat. When we arrived, the place, while nice, did not meet expectations. It was stuffy and filled with senior citizens. We did not see any young... More

I hosted my daughter's bridal shower at the Emerson by the Sea this past weekend. The food at the Grand Cafe was superb and the event co-coordinator and the wait staff were efficient, warm, friendly, and very accommodating. I have received rave reviews from my guests. I would highly recommend the Inn and the Grand Cafe for a special event... More
