Good Food Excellent Service

Visited this eatery with family. Food was very good. Kids' menu a bit limited. Granddaughter was unhappy with her meal, which was upsetting. No pleasing her after that. Owner was attentive, but did not offer much In the way of replacement. Staff was very efficient. Cleanest windows I havever seen... read more

Unfortunately, I didn't look at the reviews until we were already seated, so I just ordered a burger so as to not overpay for a bigger meal. It was okay, not great - it was fried, not grilled, giving it that weird pan taste. Service was also okay, but not great, but everyone was very nice. Value for our money... More

I was really looking forward to the chowder, but it was thickened way too much for me to give it a top rating.

We chose this restaurant because of the "Gluten Free" menu only to find out it is Gluten Friendly not "Gluten Free". One of the things they mentioned is because they use the same toaster as the regular bread. We think buying another toaster so you can offer more Gluten Free is really not a big deal! Food is a little... More

My husband and I have been here twice - once last winter and then over this past 4th of July weekend as we were staying in town. Both times we had the same thing! Lobster rolls, french fries, cole slaw, Arnold Palmer & Beer! He even tried the homemade pudding which was like Grandma's. I see the other reviews and... More

We've just finished a great vacation in Rockport, great weather, fun and food. And then we walked into Ellen's Harborside. The front bar literally smelled like a urinal cake. And while the back of the restaurant was better and had a cute view. Even the view couldn't save us from what was to come. We started with 2 small appetizers.... More

We have gone to Ellen's many times over the years and always found pleasant staff and good food. Something has changed and we were very disappointed. Our waitress was very nice but there was a tone of stress from the manager and it carried over into the dining area. We were unhappy with our food as well. Overly spiced scallops... More

When visiting this restaurant, I recently experienced an odd issue when ordering food. If you have someone who eats gluten free by choice, you may want to skip this place. The manager Donna has no idea what gluten is and treats it like a "peanut allergy" where anyone selecting their meal off of the gluten free menu can only order... More

We ordered fish and chips, and a bacon cheeseburger on a brioche bun. The burger was not good. You could tell it was a frozen patty, a cheap frozen patty. It was so thin and light grey. Had a funny, freezer burn taste to it. I did not send it back, I don't trust sending things back. The fish and chips... More

It's all about the water view, here. Our lunchtime sandwiches were inexpensive and OK, but nothing to get excited about. They came with bagged chips. The menu advertises that they have Kraft mac 'n' cheese and Pepperidge Farm bread. They have the tiniest bathroom imaginable but there are public bathrooms next door.
