Small-town diner

My wife and I and lunch here mid-afternoon on a weekday in June 2015. It was a cold, rainy day; the town was relatively deserted as the season hadn't really started, so the two other places we had planned to eat at had closed early. The Mayflower was open, so there we ate. This place is a... read more

The Mayflower Cafe is a good choice for a basic meal. We have been there many times and their daily specials are posted in the window. I like their bluefish dinner for under $20, very fresh.

Great service and friendly atmosphere. Best bet for family and picky eaters like my kids. Food was excellent. Great deal and portions.

Our family eats here twice a year when in town in June for the Portuguese festival and in August when on vacation. The food and menu meets children, land lovers and seafood eating members of our family. The price is right and service is always top notch. Only reason only four stars was after coming here for 14 they now... More

We enjoyed our meal at the Mayflower, which has a little bit of a Portuguese flair to go along with the traditional Cape Cod specialties. So while my daughter enjoyed the clam chowder and a stuffed quahog (both quite good but not the best I've ever tasted), I enjoyed the Portuguese take on fish and chips. I enjoyed this as... More

Provincetown institution, great variety of choices in seafood, portuguese dishes, burgers, kids menu. A safe bet for families. We had a variety, from boiled lobster, baked shrimp, chicken parm, burgers and club sandwiches. All were tasty. Good sized portions. The waitstaff is attentive and meals are served promptly. The only downside was that meals previously all came with a small... More

The Mayflower is a good, family oriented restaurant. With an equal number of locals and out of towners, you can find an interesting blend of Portugeese, Italian, and traditional American cuisine. The lobster, a family favorite, is reasonably priced. The service is good with many young people from other counties working as servers to burnish their English and enlarge their... More

Another Provincetown staple that is a must stop and eat. I love the chicken croquettes [ they are famous for them], shrimp baskets, lazy man's lobster with ritz cracker stuffing plus their Italian dishes are homemade and tasty. Unfortunately or fortunately [depending on your perspective] the Mayflower is ignored by many people who view it as a step down in... More

I am a resident of Provincetown and have found Mayflower to be very well priced for Provincetown. All of their food is consistently good. The chicken parmesan is the best I have had in town. Their tuna melt is pretty awesome too!! The wait staff are very pleasant. I highly recommend this place.
