On the Pier-By the Sea!

With fresh southern Italian cooking on the Ryder St. pier overlooking the water, 9 Ryder is a little hideaway in a cozy cottage type structure. The seating is intimate (only 50 capacity) and the decor eclectic- with vintage lighting and deco pieces- but the menu is large and ambitious. Food is... read more

As a local in the area, we hear mixed reviews on different places. Came here one evening for dinner with friends and got in for a reservation. Of course, there was a large party prior that took longer than needed, so we got to our table 30 minutes late. We got a drink at the bar and the place was... More

I am inclined to preface this review by saying I have known other people who have had much better experiences . However, this was my honest experience. I fully acknowledge that these reviews are micro subjective! We had been trying to get here for a while. Tonight was the night it finally happened. There was no denying that there were... More

A very nice restaurant with good views. Our appetizer of artichokes was one of the best ever. The cheese plate was also very tasty. My veal piccato was just right. Unfortunately the basic spaghetti and meatballs was not even close to the level of all the other dishes we had. Not even in the same league as everything else. Still... More

We made reservations for an early dinner. We were warmly welcomed and seated at a corner table. The food was amazing - flavors amazing and great attention to detail. We had stuffed flounder, manicotti, eggplant (house specialty), and a seafood and pasta - all of us raved of our meal. We topped it off with limoncello - perfection ( loved... More

We live in town and, for some reason, have not been to 9 Ryder. Locals have recommended it to us on several occasions and we finally had dinner there this week. The restaurant is at the end of a pier and is a bit unassuming from the outside. Thus it was quite surprising to enter this relatively small, beautiful and... More

We took our staff to 9 Ryder recently and a very nice time. We didn't get Billy, but our waiter was pleasant and helpful. We ordered apps, bottles of wine, salads, then dinner. We enjoyed it very much as usual, and describe it to our friends as old school Italian. I tried the Chicken Picatta which a friend was having... More

I have experienced the joy of 9 Ryder twice in the past 3 years. Wonderful ambience, charming staff, and fantastic food. One of my favorite places in town. I especially love the co-owner/"hostess" Muff, who is so charming and helpful.
