This is where I want to get stabbed when I die

The term "dive bar" makes it seem like a place is a real shi%hole (blame the good people in Newton MA for not letting me curse on this site). Thats not the case here although it is no frills and the floor is so slanted that if you put a marble down it would roll to the other end of... read more

what can i say? i drank my first beer (really?) in 1982. When Captain and Helen , took the clam ashtrays and cleaned them for free drinks. and bikers used to bang on the bathroom door., 'hurry up'. , and now, i pass with fond memories. You MUST go in.......and sit by window. .......and , this is Ptown. at its... More

Beer is cold, drinks are good, lively patrons, great juke box & good service. And really old wood making up the bar.

You never know who your going to see in there. The place is one of the best bars ever. You might witness some strange characters. But you a going to have a good time. Welcoming & friendly if you give it time. But never had a bad time in the Old Colony.

With crooked floors, tipping tables and old decor, this is a cool place to stop for a drink. One of the less expensive places on the strip where you get more than a shot in your mixed drink. Bartender was nice but not talkative and the crowd was friendly as well. A good place for a few drinks to start... More

After roaming Commercial Street for a couple of hours, my friend and I were in need of refreshment. The first bar we stopped at only was offering Bass, Dos Equis and Sam in bottles. YUCK!!! Then we tripped over the Old Colony Tavern. Admittedly, I had some trepidations at first as it seemed like the "boys club". But they did... More

Been going to P'Town for over 35 years and this place is a perennial highlight. It's great to sit in the front windows and watch the flow of humanity along Commercial Street. Admittedly not for everyone, although I feel sorry for those who "just don't get it". The authentic nautical vibe transports you to an alternate reality of salt, sea... More

What more to say? In the heart of all the tourist frenzy, a great bar that defines dive. Floor slopes to one side, weird stuff hanging from walls and ceiling, it's a local that is very nice to visitors too. Plus a great juke box.

Coldest beer in town and a friendly local atmosphere. No food but a great place to have a cold one, people watch and chat with a mixture of locals and visitors. The customers are quite often the show but its proximity to the street gives it a real local feel.
