My first, and most definitely not last, visit to Rye Tavern was genuine. I've heard nothing but wonderful reviews from trusted sources and I finally got to experience the decadence for myself. All I can say is I was thoroughly impressed. From the drive there, which was built up by the winding dirt road, to the rustic tavern-like setting (cue... More

Down a long dirt road is not where you expect to find a good and unique restaurant, but that is the case here. An 18th century home houses the Tavern, a lot of outside seating, but we dined inside by preference. Excellent service at the bar and table. Menu was diverse and unique. I had shrimp and chick pea bisque... More

We sat outdoors on a beautiful July evening and had a wonderful time. The food was interesting and well prepared. The tables inside looked small and poorly placed - but the patio was lovely. The food was excellent - especially the Truffle Parmesan French Fries! Get them as an appetizer if they don't go with your meal! I had the... More

The Rye Tavern is our favorite place to eat when we are looking to celebrate a birthday or anniversary - or when we are looking to have a nice evening with friends. The menu changes with the season, as it is inspired by the garden out back. Luckily, though, there are some items we look forward to having anytime (clam... More

We stopped as we were heading to the Cape with our daughter and grandchild. It is really off the beaten track (in the woods) and seemed to be quite busy. Our food was excellent to the taste but was warm to cold. Not good. We go back another time to see if we can get "hot" food. You have to... More

Charming ambience. Historical tavern with great food and innovative chef. Had dinner inside and desert outside. Fabulous evening. Place was full so it was a bit noisey, but it did not affect our good time.

We had the extraordinary pleasure of dining at this historic charming restaurant. Local fare in a classic quaint ambiance, pricey and worth it! The food was prepared to perfection, beautifully presented and promptly served. I had wild boar for the first time, and I forgot what my hubby had. We would love to return as it's in our top three... The setting is unique, the staff friendly and the kitchen provides a culinary treat. However, the noise level is the spoiler. I will look forward to returning off season or when the acoustical problem is solved, making conversation possible.

In these days of GPS wayfinding, this was fairly easy to find. It is probably easier to travel on highway 3 to avoid some gravel roads. The chef-prepared food was excellent, menu well-suited to varied tastes, and the tavern boasted inside and garden dining. There was live music (excellent singer) when we were there and a quiet, congenial crowd. Highly... More

My daughter who was visiting wanted to try Rye Tavern. Noticed they are now open a few days for lunch and while we would have preferred to go for dinner as their lunch menu is basic lunch fare...lunch was the only option with her schedule. Rye Tavern is certainly a nice setting, especially this time of year. We ate outside... More
