Excellently prepared northern Italian food. The pork chop was juicy, tender and well-flavored. The sea bass was perfectly prepared. The skin was crispy, the flesh moist and flaky. Side vegetables and starches were also well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was attentive, but not hovering. The atmosphere is Italian rustic. Outdoor dining is available.

I looked at the reviews for this restaurant before deciding to give them a try - they are definitely all over the place. It seems we all agree that the atmosphere is superior. Although we originally were heading outside, when we passed a quiet table in a corner before we reached the rear of the building, my wife and I... More

The atmosphere of this restaurant is so promising: brick and stone walls and an intimate, inviting ambiance. Don't get your hopes up! We encountered indifferent service and food that ranged from inedible (rubbery calamari) to bland ravioli with sauce that left much to be desired. The bread was not even served warm. We ordered Pinot Grigio and received sub par... More

I thought the ambience was wonderful, waiter superb. My dinner was delicious. Others were not so pleased with quality of veal dish. I use the Puttanesca (?spelling) as a test in an untried Italian restaurant so this more than passed the test. The wine list finds something to please anyone. The parking is right across the street so that is... More

We'll give you the bottom line first: this was the BEST Italian meal we've ever had in the northeast! We're both in our 50s and consider ourselves to be extreme and experienced foodies and pretty darn good cooks. We started with the wine list, which was well chosen and varied yet not overwhelming, our choice was perfect. My cocktail, which... More

Quality, authentic, northern Italian dining, intimate, family owned, relaxed (informal) setting. Wait staff is knowledgable, very friendly and helpful.

We had dinner on a weeknight in mid-March - and there were only a few other patrons. The food was excellent (both pasta and fish), and the waiter and staff were very attentive. Excellent dinner - we'll go back.

We has great expectations when we walked in. Clean, neat, wait staff pleasant. Description of dishes sounded very good. What a disappointment! The ingredients were below standards, food imported from New Zealand is cheap and poor quality, government subsidized, not worth the prices on the menu. Pasta tasted like it was out of a box, sauces heavy handed. As a... More

All the food is cooked to order. The bread is made in a brick oven. It is crusty and delicious...served with olive oil and freshly chopped basil. The pasta is always perfectly al dente. This is a favorite restaurant in the heart of Pittsfield.

We tried Trattoria Rustica this past weekend having heard it was good Italian food. I called for reservations and was told I just got the last table for the time I requested. We arrived slightly early and the restaurant was empty. It was slightly comical after having been told I took the last table. Upon seating we were offered a... More
