Cordial service, food lacking distinction

We have been visiting Joe's during our New England sojourns for the past two decades plus. This is probably our last visit. The restaurant is clean, well appointed, and staffed with cordial staff. The menu is revised (I miss the Reuben) but sufficient choices exist. My wife ordered a standard... read more

We were shopping at the North Shore Mall in Peabody and had dinner at Joe's. Inside the restaurant, the tables were spaced which was great for conservation. The bar area was separated from the dining. The atmosphere had a pub feel and overall, our sandwiches were average...a blackened fish sandwich and a burger with fries. However, we had an outstanding... More

Service was great here. Hamburgers were good. Lobster roll had a lot of lobster and their acclaimed sauce as opposed to mayonnaise which I found to be very blah. It was served on a thick hot dog roll, but way too much bread. Plenty of lobster but needed more sauce or mayonnaise. Decent meal all around, good fries. Prices fair.

This is one of very few places that actually serve Guiness in draft, we love it. The service is always friendly and the food very decent. The bar is a nice place to relax for a few minutes before going on with your day (or waiting for your wife to finish shopping at the mall).

My wife and I enjoyed a lunch with friends after a nearby meeting. I had southern fried chicken and found it delicious and ample enough to take some home. My wife had chicken with vegetables on pasta and also took some home. We later swapped leftovers and had a second good meal at home. Since I have poor hearing, I... More

Joe's prides itself on being a scratch kitchen - it is. No microwave ovens here! When one member of my party asked for a gluten free menu - it arrived and shortly thereafter - 2 gluten free rolls arrived. i didn't even know one could order gluten free rolls - we didn't - they just appreared because she has requested... Stopped in here on the way to Maine for lunch. Seated quickly, very friendly staff. Prompt service. Food was good, my darling wife's buffalo wrap was spicy and delicious. My burger was cooked as I like it. Overall pretty good. But I did think prices were a bit high.

We enjoyed our choices from a menu with a nice variety of foods. Waiter was excellent. There was flexibility to make some changes when ordering and beverages were refilled promptly. Location in a mall with own outside entrance and easy parking.

My family and I have visited Joe's many years. I find the food is not as good and the service is poor. It's more like a Pub now.

I had the Rib Eye and my wife had the fried chicken. The bread was fresh baked and served warm and it was a large portion as well. The steak was a good portion and flavorful, the fried chicken was crispy and moist. Garlic mashed potatoes are outstanding. Our server was cheerful, attentive, and went out of her way to... More
