Authentic German food & goods

I was so happy to find a local German Deli & Café. Both of my parents are German & we went to our local German Butcher each week in Connecticut. On my visit I tried out the Café too and was not disappointed. I enjoyed the Double Sausage Platter with Knockwurst, 2 Nurnberg sausages, 2 potato... read more

my friend and I like to meet there for lunch about once a month. we are working our way through the delicious and interesting menu. the waitresses are very helpful since we aren't familiar with most of the foods. We haven't hit upon anything we haven't liked yet. Wine selections are also good.

We got to know Karl's when we lived on the North Shore, 10 years ago. My husband is from Germany and was thrilled to find a "real" German deli and shop to buy his favorite foods from home. We've since moved south of Boston, but still travel to Karl's 1-2x per month to enjoy a meal and shop. We've recommended... More

I spent time in the service assigned in Germany and while there came to really love the local wursts and other cuisines. Since returning home, Karl's is absolutely the closest I have come to enjoying that same great flavor here. And it is really really close. I try to stop into Karl's every month or so for a wurst fix.... More

The real deal. German wurst and smoked and cured meats done on premises. Also a good selection of imported German and northern European grocery items. The cafe serves German dishes and desserts and is excellent. Many of the customers and staff are German speakers - so you know you're getting the real deal.

They have a small cafe serving up some German food and beers. The real attraction is the store. Great selection of Northern European foods available. Fantastic selection of cold cuts and cheeses.

Karl's is a worthwhile destination for German delicatessen fare. The small restaurant serves good food, and the selection of sausages and other foodstuffs is outstanding in our area.

I live in the area and have both eaten in the cafe and shopped at the deli over a dozen times since Karl's has moved to the Peabody location. I love this place, and bring people here whenever I can. My review will cover both the store and the cafe. Why you want to come here: 1. The bacon. They... More

I love Karl's. The have the best sausages. Even better, you can get a draft beer while they pack yours to go.
