Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Seafood Nation loves our outpost in Peabody, at the junction of Routes 128 and 114. Those traveling to and from the beaches in Cape Ann are known to jump ship for some fresh catch. And those considering a fishing trip, visit us instead. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Always stop here for a meal whenever we are in Boston-never fails to please. Wife had the award winning best anywhere chowder and mussels- I had the scrod. Value priced wine list yielded a Sauvignon blanc from the Loire Valley that was delicious.. We split a Boston cream pie for dessert-more than enough for the two of us, We had... More

We went here for lunch and had clam chowder and it was excellent. The service was great. My husband also loved the rolls. It is kind of expensive in my opinion when you can get fresh seafood in so many places on the north shore.

When my daughter comes for a visit from Arizone, this is where we head for to get that wonderful clam chowder. Can even take it to go., Usually just get a bowl of chowder and bread. Very filling.

They provide a good consistent product with the freshest seafood. Good seasoning. Service was great. New chef so the food was a little slow coming out but server kept us aware. Booths appear a bit tired but otherwise clean. Love the sanitizer stations all around. Saw staff using them consistently. Had the crab cake combo with the scallops and shrimp.... More

Legal Seafood makes "consistently outstanding" seem easy. Bluefish is not popular with many folks but once in a while I get a craving for it. Reminds me of being a kid when it was what my family could afford. Ordered it blackened with a baked potato & broccoli. PERFECT! And the Mai Tai was delicious. If you're visiting the Boston... More

Had what was probably the best lobster I've had in years and years. Haven't been to Legal Sea Foods for quite a while and was blown away how good my lobster was. My wife had the ciopinno, which was also excellent.

I have been going to Legal for many years in Peabody, in Cambridge and Lynnfield and I have never had a bad meal. The seafood is always excellent. Service is great and there is an extensive wine list as well as a flight of wine samples.

We went for dinner on a Saturday evening with our friends! We sat in a quiet round booth in the back of the restaurant. The service was outstanding! One member of the party required gluten free food. She had no problem finding plenty of delicious selections on their gluten free menu. We split a dinner and we both received our... More
