The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Seafood Nation loves our outpost in Peabody, at the junction of Routes 128 and 114. Those traveling to and from the beaches in Cape Ann are known to jump ship for some fresh catch. And those considering a fishing trip, visit us instead. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Pricey but fresh

Legal in the north shore mall is clean and nicely decorated. The menu is pricey but the food is excellent and fresh. The rolls are the best around and they come hot with butter. I could eat a dozen. I always get the shrimp and Jasmine rice. A good choice after having a few rolls smothered in... read more

We tried a new location and were not disappointed!!! Business brought me to Peabody and I went to my old stand by, and glad I did . This particular restaurant was brighter than the one I visited in Burlington but still had the cozy feeling . We were seated promptly in a nice booth in the back. Our server was... More

Yes, "If it isn't Fresh, it isn't Legal." Since I had my first lunch in Kendal Square Boston in 1989 , Legal continues to unabatedly out do the completion in Seafood. My best to the family business. This is history, share with family and friends.

Legal sea foods is always dependable. Had a little difficulty finding the location from my smart phone maps app, but finally tracked it down.

Not hard to find superb seafood on the North Shore but Legal Seafood is a step above the local hangouts but not way out of price range. They offer locally caught fish - or claim to! - and it was fantastic. Crabcakes were fantastic. Met a friend to catch up on life and spent a couple of hours there. Was... More

Have enjoyed many splendid meals here over the years, and decided finally to say so. I agree with Roger B. that Legal Seafoods should not be thought of as a "chain", since they're not all alike. The Peabody Legal is reliably good, with great seafood offerings and a waitstaff clearly dedicated to customer satisfaction. I have never had a bad... More

We were met immediately by two attentive women at the desk. I asked for a table with light and we were escorted to a table by the window promptly. The service person was quick to come by and offer specials and drinks. The food was delivered promptly; I have a shellfish allergy but this is the only place I come... More

Had the Lobster Bisque which had nice portions of lobster in the cup. I had Salmon which was a huge piece and very good. Hubby had the Chef's Specialty with 3 different types of fish, scallops and shrimp. Very good also! Everything was paced nicely. I would come here again!

This upscale fish house does not taste like a chain, nor does the service feel like one either. Its crowded on weekends but worth the noise or wait. Never had a bad meal, and never got ill off their raw bar. It one of my favorite eateries.

We frequent many Legal Sea Foods, but the Peabody restaurant is our “homebase.” Our most recent visit was with out-of-town friends who had never been to (any) Legals. Although we had a reservation, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. This was unusual, but it was a very busy evening. We find the Peabody location to be... More
