I grew up in Eastie and always loved their food

My mother and father always bought take out. It was like a treat to eat Joe Santarpio's pizza. I still remember the big sign on the second floor on Chelsea St. It's a small place but very comfortable and easy to get to. Parking is close and free and I always see someone I know when in Eastie... read more

I have eaten at Santarpio's many times. Each time it was a good experience. Food and service are always great in a casual atmosphere.

Not a huge menu. If you like pizza, it's a great place. They have a few salads and a few sides - like skewers of lamb tips and skewers of sausages.

I've visited the Santarpio's in East Boston many times over the years for take out pizza. So when I came across the one in Peabody I decided to stop in. Like the Boston location, Santarpio's in Pebody makes a great pizza. Crispy crust, but not burnt. Tasty cheese and pepperoni. The works pizza is very good with chucks of sausage... More

Easily one of the best pies in Boston with freshly baked dough, tangy cheese, crispy crusts, sweet and piquant tomato sauce. Love the back room for take our orders with the hardcore, sympathetic vibe. Very unique, delicious pies.

Ordered 2 pizzas to go. Toppings were good. Pie was carelessly sliced. When I picked up a slice the toppings slid off the pizza into the box. Crust from center back about 2 bites was like soggy cardboard. Edge was well cooked and good. This was about 3:00 PM on Wednesday. Not busy.

Easy Boston location. Would get 5 stars For three visits there. Think this Northshore branch, Just had a bad day ! Crust had a bit more cornmeal than should have Was too dry and crunchy Seemed to be random amounts of Parmesan Just dumped on the pizza. Sauce and cheese were ok, Expected a lot more Would go back ,... More

I have ordered a couple pies from here so far. The nice thing is I can call in and order a pizza "half backed", pick it up and finish baking it at home so its hot and fresh. I like that. The crust is very good, but the only thing I don't like is that it is always soggy in... More

This branch of Santarpio's is so much easier to find and park at for those of us who live north of Logan airport. It's not as funky but on the other hand women don't feel unwelcome and they accept credit cards compared to the original shop.

People come here for just a few things: the pizza (which is so good it's unbelievable), the sausage/lamb/steak on the grill (fabulous), and the fact that you don't have to go all the way into East Boston to go to the original, still-thriving Santarpio's near the airport. No question, the pizza is terrific. Ask anyone in/around Boston, especially the Italians.... More
