The restaurant is in an old train station. The food and drinks are great. Every once in a while a train will pass through and add to the experience. The best restaurant of its kind in Palmer, MA

If you ever go to the Amerst Railway Society's annual model train show at the Big E (Eastern States Exposition) Fairgrounds, you've got to take a side trip to Palmer Mass and the Steaming Tender Restaurant. You not only get the benefit of good food, but also the possibility of seeing some prototype train action. The restaurant is housed in... More

We went there on their busiest day of the year, but were able to find spots at the bar. Had some Buffalo Chicken Fingers during our 1:20 wait. They said 2 hours so in the end it wasn't bad. Ordered the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese for dinner. It was excellent and not something I've seen on other menus. Others in... More

Visited here after the model railroad expo at the Big E in Springfield. Pretty much everyone headed here after the show, so it was very busy with a long wait time, but well worth it. It's worth coming just to see the building, which is a beautifully restored 19th century train station. It sits right next to live tracks, so... More

Very busy and the wait was well worth it! We given consideration, we had a special needs person in our party of four. We were treated with a table not in the main traffic, corner! They took care of us and were very accommodating... The meals met our expectations. From grilled shrimp salad, Scallop meal, rack of ribs and chicken... More

If you like trains you will love it here, especially if you get a table by the tracks. But what if you don't care about trains? You will love it, too. The old depot has been beautifully restored with a full bar and dining room. The food is classic American, prepared well in large amounts. The draft beer selection is... More

My mom and I are in town annually for the Brimfield antique show. We had heard about this restaurant for several years - great recommendations from antique dealers. So when we finally got there for dinner, we were kicking ourselves for not getting there sooner! The restaurant itself, inside a old restored train station, is beautiful. Amazing woodwork, huge open... More
