Worth a visit - especially for train aficionados

Had a Sunday dinner here with another couple. The old trains outside, stagecoaches, and 1930's era music being played made for a fun, unique atmosphere. The food was good - not gourmet, but tasty with reasonably large portions. I would definitely eat here again.

Best apps. Prime rib. Coolest old train station. Drinks were stiff. Table service was great. We will come back again.

We came to Palmer to go to the new Palmer Motorsports Park (Whiskey Hill) and was looking around for a place for a group of us to grab dinner. It was sort of last minute but the folks at the Steaming Tender couldn't have been nicer or more helpful in getting our group of 10 seated. Service was very friendly,... More

We read reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites, but wound up being pretty disappointed in the Steaming Tender. Yes, the building is interesting, though not quite as grand as one might be led to believe. The food is okay, but hardly worth a trip out of the way. A fish dish seemed to be frozen at best, but most likely... More

My husband and I stopped in as we were passing through on a drive one day. We immediately thought the building/atmosphere was cool, relaxing. We were promptly greeted and we were shown the bar (what we were looking for). The bartender was pleasant and made us some delicious drinks. We ordered the nachos as they sounded delicious and we weren't... More

We were just passing through the area and found this place on trip advisor and tried it out. We called ahead to get on the wait list as it was prime rib night on a Saturday. The wait was about 15 minutes even with the 15 min lead time from the phone call. Everyone in the lobby and he hostess... More

Eating dinner with great friends and a beautiful turn of the century railroad station, with excellent food and a wonderful waitsess who could ask for more and then here comes a train passing by the window .... Wow you could feel the train going by. I had the Delmonico steak, my wife had the scallops, my buddy had lemon Chicken... More

We met up with some friends the other night. We sat outside on the patio-very nice setting. Great Martinis and local craft beers. We all enjoyed our meals! Their Whiskey bread pudding is to die for!!! We will definitely be back!

Based on the reviews here we gave this restaraunt a chance. What a horrible decision. The service was horrible and the food was disgusting. I did not complain to managment only because it was a family get together and those who ordered prime rib were happy. However, everything else was gross..the nachos were cheap tortilla chips with old chili and... More
