Annual vacation treat

Each summer when we visit the cape we return to the Captain Linnell House for a wonderful meal in a lovely setting. The cocktails, food, and wine are always superb. My wife and I were married there and now for many years have enjoyed visiting with our kids. A family treat!

My husband and I dined at The Captain Linnell House during a recent vacation. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit. The food was spectacular from start to finish. The grounds are beautiful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. We vacation on the Cape every year. We will definitely... More

Crab cake was perfect. Chicken&lobster was a good surprise. The restaurant is beautiful and the service kind and quick. Too many restaurants in the USA try to make "haute cuisine" but then make a mess with garlic, cream and spices. This restaurant has an appropriate use of the ingredients. Well done

Just as charming as ever with a warm feeling of "Olde Cape Cod". The service was impeccable. The food was out-of-this-world! We had a lovely moderately priced Sauvignon Blanc which was very good. My husband and I shared their crab cake appetizer and it was spectacular. The lemon sauce with fresh chives was a tasty complement. I had the Lobster... More

Service, setting, meal - Captain Linnell has it all. Can't believe I'm only finding it now. I was in Chatham the night before and was so disappointed in my meal at another place that had an "excellent" rating and was at first reluctant to try Capt Linnell. What a wonderful time! We did the Prix Fixe and I expected smaller... More

Another great meal last night! I had the escargot and the cod and Sally had the pearl salad and the tuna special. Our server was attentive and the service was at just the right speed. Our neighbors were there, as well, having a great time it seemed. Here are some photos. Earlier in the day, when I stopped by to... More

My wife and I have vacationed on Cape Cod many years, but last night was our first experience at Captain Linnel House. It definitely will not be our last. The place is a beautiful old home with excellent food and great service. The Garden Room seems to be the most popular place to sit, but we were in the Salon... More

We enjoyed everything from the menu to the atmosphere and the service. The meal portions were very generous (unusual for a fine dining restaurant) and the entrees were served with two vegetables. The setting is beautiful and the attention to detail was impressive. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion dinner. The prices were reasonable as well.

Shelly and her staff are amazing !!! I hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Captain LInnell House because it is my son's favorite restaurant on the cape. I now know why. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. My parent's - both born and bred in Maine - are still raving about the clam chowder. Perfection in a bowl !!!!... More
