Delicious food that is innovative but still true to local food sourcing.

We stayed at a B and B on the island and the owner of the B and B knew the Owner/Head Chef of Red Cat Kitchen. When we told her we were going for dinner there she was delighted, she said she hadn't been but had heard great things and that she remembered the chef as a little boy growing... read more

The food was good, but the prices were a little extreme for average food. I had the filet and my husband had a shrimp/lobster salad special which we both enjoyed but could have gotten somewhere else for a lot cheaper since they weren't anything special. It was a cute little restaurant with cool decor, maybe we'll go back for appetizers... More

So sorry to give the The Red Cat a bad review, after reading several good ones, but sadly it must be done. The restaurant is much like a small, artsy shack which is quaint and fun. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. Maybe the chief was on vacation? The tuna was sushi grade and tender, but the Thai Curry sauce was... More

I was disappointed with my first dining experience here after hearing so many rave reviews. I have concluded that I should give this place another chance and make different menu selections. I ordered the fried brussel sprouts as an appetizer (C-), the colossal shrimp over heirloom tomatoes as my entree (B-), and a golden margarita on the rocks (C-). I... More

This small new restaurant has a great, fun vibe - fun music, great art on the walls, really attentive service with upbeat attitude ( kudos to anna!) and best of all, food that will have you planning when to come back before you've even finished your meal. The crispy Brussels sprouts, roaste shoshito peppers and onion rings with buttermilk dip... More

The reviews for this restaurant are well deserved. We may not have chosen typical Vineyard food for dinner but it was terrific. Started with the the brussel sprouts - don't miss them. Having read some reviews I found myself craving the fried chicken with waffles. It was fabulous. I could only eat half - big portion. My husband had the... More

I have been going to the island for over 20 years now and when I first discovered the Red Cat I was hooked. Each and every time my husband and I go we make a reservation at the Red Cat. I urge you to make your reservation in advance since it gets booked up quickly. The menu always changes because... More

All I can say is we spent three weeks on the Vineyard and feasted in a variety of places but The Red Cat Kitchen is the best place on the island. Use The Open Table App and make your reservations before you arrive! You will be glad you did. A foody delight!

I don't know of many foodie places on the island. Nothing wrong with a clam shack but if you long for something more this may be the place. We dined on the 57th menu of the season and were impressed. Farm and sea to table and it shows.
