OB is not known for its fine dining. "ChoCo" is probably the best meal in OB. Don't expect anything exceptional or really high end but it is a nice upscale modern pub-like feel that has decent food. I think it has fallen a notch down since it opened but it is still good. It is right near the harbor and... More

Everything we heard about this place was true. The chowder was some of the best we have ever eaten, that includes Nantucket, and the best restaurants on Cape Cod! In case you are not a chowder lover, their entire menu is also wonderful. When we visited, my wife ordered a lobstah roll. She talked abbout it for the entire week.... More

We visited on a cold March evening and found the MVCC packed with a definite locals crowd ... they definitely know a good thing and probably want to keep it secret! Great food, very good service and a lively, casual ambience. Don't miss it!

I went here with a friend for dinner. This is the second year and things are very much the same (In good ways). I found the service to be great and attentive. The food was prepared fresh and creatively. You can see the kitchen through a window (a cool detail I've learned to like). The portions are large though so... More

Our most elegant and delicious dining experience during the week we spent on the island. Well worth the brief wait. Chowder is great, the rest of our meal was too!

Well I was in MV for a couple of days and decided to try this restaurant since the owner of my BB suggested it. The chowder is simply delicious. Since I moved back to Europe years ago I very rarely have a chowder probably only when I go to the States which also doesn't happen very often. This was a... More

We went there for an early evening NY Eve dinner and wondering if it was wise. Most restaurants we visited on this very busy night never excelled in quality, service or variety. And to our delightful surprise, the MV Chowder Company went over board to dispel prove us wrong. The meal was one of the best I ever had, the... More

I had read up on the restaurants in Vineyard Haven and this particular place got rave reviews for their world class clam chowder. It would happen on a typhoon type rain day where the rain was pouring in side ways that we would go to this place and not only enjoy the best chowder we have ever had but also... More

And I live in New England! We stopped in on a cold night and needed some soup. Best I have ever had! What was really nice was the diversity of the menu since not everyone in our party likes shellfish. Grilled Salmon was nicely done and my husband loved is grilled scallops. Service was very good, delightful gentleman who made... More

Well, they live up to their name. They have the best clam chowder I have ever had, so definitely get a bowl of that! I had the lobster roll, which was very different but delicious none the less. It was a very cool atmosphere inside, a little classy, but you can walk in with jeans and a tshirt on. I... More
