The best. I mean holy crap, these were amazing. My boyfriend and I went around 9PM and had an assortment of things. I had a maple bacon donut (OMG RUN DO NOT WALK AND EAT IT) and the Boston Creme (It wa really tasty as well) and we split an apple fritter. Yea. The fritter basically melts in your mouth.... More

My boyfriend and I were walking around in Oak Bluffs after dinner one night and were totally drawn in by the amazing smell of apples wafting around the center of town. We tracked down backyard donuts, and much to our disappointment didn't have any cash on hand, so had to wait another night to try. However, the donuts were well... More

I get a chuckle just thinking about this. This year the system in the parking lot has improved from other years. I laugh when I hear people coming on the boat or walking the streets and the buzz is "Backdoor Donuts". The lines remind me of Disney World, going up and down the lines that are roped off and having... More

Had to try the glazed donuts… they were wonderful, as was the ham and cheese croissant. Worth a stop!

It was hard for me to see what was so special about the apple fritter or cinnamon roll. They both seemed to use the same tasteless dough. The dough itself should be worth eating. The fritters are very sweet; the few pieces of apple in them do taste like apple. The sugar glaze with cinnamon was acceptable. The cinnamon roll... More

The late night goodies were quite a treat. We tried the doughnuts and cinnamon roll - which was still hot when we got it. Part of the Local Culture, and worth trying.

Having a family member living on Martha's Vineyard, we were sure to get an inside scoop on where to snack. But this place was amazing, as were their donuts. Tried the sugar cinnamon and of course the apple fritter ( with chunks of apple) and we're blown away. Yum!

I am not a big donut fan, though as I have traveled around I have tried many 'favorite' donuts from both local and national brands. The donuts from back door donuts were still warm, and absolutely delicious - way different to all others. I gave them 4 stars because they are so much better than others, and so reasonably priced... Bakery was A little hard to find, but well worth the effort. The owner warmed our "melt in your mouth" apple fritter; and we enjoyed conversation with a local resident in the cozy eating area.
