Tucked away in a residential area off Chapel Street, this place is great. Read about it on TripAdvisor, figured we'd give it a try. Why did we wait so long! Looks like a "locals" place, but we are not locals and we felt very comfortable there. There's a bar area and a seating area, both spacious. The food was awesome.... More

Went with my hubby on a Saturday night. Odd location in a residental neighborhood but great food and atmosphere. I had a seafood platter with lobster, scallops and shrimp, hubby had spaghetti and a steak. Portions were good, food was great. I wish we had found this place sooner but we only got to eat there once during our visit.... More

We've tried many items on the menu and they are all very good. One that stands out is the pecan encrusted chicked salad. This is a very satisfying plate of chopped salad with crumbled blue cheese, carnberries and walnuts with a light dressing topped with a pecan encrusted fried chicken breast. This is worth driving an extra distance for. When... More

Being originally from Maine and accustomed to fresh fried seafood I am often leary of having fried seafood away from the coast. However, the fried seafood dinners at Colonial House Restaurant rival any clam shack in Maine. I always gravitate towards the Clam and Scallop combo as they are my favorite. If you like a cocktail or two like my... More

The food here is excellent. It is a local town hangout that has been popular for many years. Love going here, though it is not a fancy restaurant it has a nice dining room.

Visit Norwood once or twice a month, and am always looking for good eating places. Saw favorable Trip Advisor reviews and decided to try it. Small, neighborhood location, front entrance has several steps up, not handicap friendly, although they do have a ramp at the rear that can be opened. Bar up front seats about a dozen, then dining area... More

I travel to norwood on business regularly and the colonial house is my favorite restsurant. Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food at the right price. Mussels diavalo, clams diavolo, stuffed or unstuffed haddock, chicken parm, steak tips and the list goes on. All excellent. Not an easy place to find at all. Make sure you take yoir gps... More

My wife and I recently went to the Colonial House. We were frequent patrons of the original Old Colonial and had not been back in the building in at least twenty years. The interior had not changed much but the menu contained less fried food and more broiled and pasta dishes than what we remembered. The service was still great... More

While traveling in California's wine country, another man overheard that we were from Norwood, MA. He challenged me to tell him where I could find the best fried clams in a Norwood restaurant. I suggested a couple of places, but had to admit that I had never had really good fried clams here. He told me about the Colonial House... More
