I grew up in Norwood but moved away 25 years ago. I always go back to this restaurant whenever I am in town. It was my favorite restaurant when I lived there and still one of my all time favorites. It is nothing fancy but they have a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere and the food is out of this world. Huge... More

This little gem is amazing!! It is tucked away in a residential neighborhood, just fantastic. It has been here for a very long time. When you walk in you notice the warm ambiance of the room. The cozy atmosphere, the smells.. Once your seated is where the fun begins. We were just here 3 nights ago and AGAIN the waitress... More

I went here while in Norwood on business. We were served by Rita who was an absolutely joy! The food was good and plentiful. Only annoying factor was that the tv was on showing SuperNanny so we were listening to bratty, crying, yelling kids during our meal. The good news is that the other table that had children with them... More

My wife and I are living temporarily in Norwood while our house in renovated in Roslindale. We're discovering restaurants here as we live like tourists more than residents. Tonight we treated ourselves to a meal at the Colonial House Restaurant. It's in a residential area and from the outside it looks more like a B&B than a restaurant. But it... More

One of the best hidden gems in the area. Great food, staff is always the best, and highly recommend it to anyone but than it would get a lot more busier than it is. The fried clams are some of the best I have had.

Tucked away in a residential area off Chapel Street, this place is great. Read about it on TripAdvisor, figured we'd give it a try. Why did we wait so long! Looks like a "locals" place, but we are not locals and we felt very comfortable there. There's a bar area and a seating area, both spacious. The food was awesome.... More

Went with my hubby on a Saturday night. Odd location in a residental neighborhood but great food and atmosphere. I had a seafood platter with lobster, scallops and shrimp, hubby had spaghetti and a steak. Portions were good, food was great. I wish we had found this place sooner but we only got to eat there once during our visit.... More

We've tried many items on the menu and they are all very good. One that stands out is the pecan encrusted chicked salad. This is a very satisfying plate of chopped salad with crumbled blue cheese, carnberries and walnuts with a light dressing topped with a pecan encrusted fried chicken breast. This is worth driving an extra distance for. When... More
