Quaint and dainty: a place for a little respite

Absolutely love this little shop of delectable treats to soothe the body & mind. Whether coming here with girlfriends or dining alone with a book, I have always left satisfied and looking forward to my next visit. Bit of Both (daily soup & melt or salad) is my favorite! The wait can be a little long because it's a small place but so worth waiting. Everything is handmade from scratch and you never know what you are going to find on the menu. I have never had anything I didn't like. The desserts are scrumptious! There are choices of tea are many. Stop and take a look. It is... More

Yesterday my mother, my boyfriend's mother and I had a very long lunch at Special Teas. After being seated it took more than five minutes to be greeted and to take our drink orders. Ten minutes later, drinks finally on the table, we were able order lunch. It took more than 40 minutes before for our melts and a salad... More

My 6 year old daughter and I love going here for tea parties. On more than one occasion I have brought friends here for a quiet get together including fabulous food and amazing tea. I brought my daughter here for her 6 birthday and the owner was kind enough to gift my daughter the small tea cup and saucer. I... More

I've been to Special Teas many times for tea with a friend or for small gatherings. The selection of teas is fantastic, and the scones are amazing. The service is usually on the slow side, but we don't care - we're there to talk and relax. I recommend the Afternoon Tea - mini sandwiches, 2 choices of scones, and mini... More

I'd been to Special Teas several times before, so it was a surprise to experience the lapse in good service that recently occurred. I arrived with a friend around 12:30. We had to wait at least five minutes just to find out whether there was room for us. The place was about three-quarters full and didn't seem particularly busy (certainly... More

Whether I have a salad, soup or a sandwich, I'm never disappointed at Special Teas! Great place to meet friends for lunch. The ladies who work there are always fabulous and friendly! The scones are the best!

We had heard that service could be slow but we had no idea what we were in for. We arrived at 11:45 on a Saturday and were seated right away. The restaurant was mostly full and the vibe was good. There were 3 women working the place. Waitress #1 took our order for tea and lunch. She then seemed to... More

I've been to Special Teas twice now and truly love the many food selections, loose teas and atmosphere. All of the menu items are cooked fresh and presented very well. If you didn't know it, you would think you are being hosted for a meal at a friend's house! At a friend's house you'd enjoy the meal and the conversation... More
