Decent Food but Not Worth the Money

We ate here for my husband's birthday. We've spent a little time in Argentina and my husband loves steak, so we were looking forward to this meal for awhile. Unfortunately, our dinners didn't live up to the excitement. My husband got the bife con gorgonzola, which he said was good but the sauce... read more

Looking for great cuisine in the heart of downtown Northampton? Caminito is a great option for steak lovers looking for an Argentinean flair. Entertainment was provided by a guitarist. Intimate atmosphere and attentive waitstaff make this an excellent option for dining out. Make sure you try the Brussels sprouts!

I read a lot of negative reviews for this restaurant and I was worried, however, it is the place my son and his fiancee wanted to go. We made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Two of us had the bife con gorgonzola, and two the filet. All of the beef was cooked the way we ordered it... More

Been here about 8 times within this year and I have to say I will go nowhere else for steak but here. Cooked perfectly MR every time and the hospitality is great! Highly recommend the gaucho which is the ribeye or the strip steak ( bife con gorgonzola) both served with creamy homemade chive mashed potatoes and veggies. Great portions... More

We started our meal with a few appetizers, they were good but nothing spectacular. We each ordered a different beef cut with chive mashed potato and broccoli. The beef was delicious and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were a little dry and not a lot of flavor. The broccoli was cooked properly and had a lot of flavor although... More

Caminito is a very small restaurant located at the top of a staircase (it's not handicapped accessible). The moment you enter, you are greeted by the aroma of foods cooking on a wood burning fire, giving you a pre-smell of the meal you will have. Our party arrived a few minutes early for our reservation, but we were seated immediately.... More

We enjoyed a fine meal here during Restaurant Week 2014, but only after a slow start. We were immediately seated for our Sunday 7pm reservation in a half-full restaurant. But then we waited and waited...and WAITED. The waitress knew were there (lots of eye contact), and when she finally came around to greet us, insisted that the restaurant had been... More

Inviting place with an expansive menu (not just beef but it her choices as well). Chorizo appetizer was bland, the steak was of high quality but no real Argentinian seasoning. The service was completely overwhelmed on the Saturday we were there. Water refills hard to get, glass of wine took 25 minutes, entree took almost an hour. Live flamenco guitar... More

We visited Caminito last night for a celebration dinner. While there are many restaurant choices in the Northampton area...this is an outstanding choice. We had a 6:30 pm reservation that was made earlier that same day. Unfortunately, it was a wet and rainy evening so outdoor dining was limited to 2 tables that were already occupied so we settled in... More

We had reservations for a party of 5 for a special occasion dinner, arrived right at the reservation time and were graciously ushered directly to a table. Drink & appetizer orders taken, and service right on time for the rest of the meal. Water glasses always full almost magically, and plates served and removed at just the right time. We... More
