It's gotten better

We have gone here for years, but for awhile they changed the menu to be more what was what the chef thought was seasonal and right and not exactly what the patrons wanted. He changed his ways. Now we have a menu, again, that is interesting and fresh and not just what the chef/owner "thinks" you... read more

Went there last night. The other person had the porcini encrusted salmon, and I had the rigatoni Bolognese pasta. The sauce was tasty, and the pasta seemed reasonable but was a bit overcooked. The other person said the salmon was good. The other person I was with has a lot of food allergies - the salmon itself was not an... More

This is our favorite neighborhood place and the food is excellent but the business moves are sooo misguided and continue to aggravate! Gorgeous Cesar Salad with the most delicious, creamy gooey cheese on a delectable toast. I dream about it! Go for a light dinner at the bar with my husband. Order the Cesar! NO DELECTABLE CHEESE ON BUTTERY CRISP!!!... More

Chef Jeff Fournier and his capable team grow fresh herbs in a roof-top garden, make their own sausage, and change the menu to benefit from the freshest, in-season offerings of local farms. The chef's artwork hangs on the walls. We have enjoyed dinners, including New Year's eve, and continue to make it among our go-to restaurants when entertaining guests. I... More

Interesting menu, very creative! Service was great too. The menu is not full of lots of options but that just shows dot me the thought and special process that was going into daily creations that could be fully realized by the chef and crew. Great experience all around. We went for an anniversary and it was a perfect and delicious... More

My wife and I had a date night and wanted to give this neighborhood gem a shot. Even though menu is limited, the options are very tasty. Drinks were excellent as well. I also have heard about $1 oyster night on Tuesday which I should be back to give it a shot.

I love a restaurant with an interesting menu, and the Apps, cheese menu and entrees were all a bit out if the ordinary. The one caveat is that there were 10-12 appetizers, but only 5 entrees ( one being Roasted Chicken). However, all the entrees came with very interesting sides. I really enjoyed the Black flounder,( a special Sat. Evening)... More

One of the best restaurants in Newton Highlands, a charming western suburb of Boston close to Boston College. This restaurant has a lovely neighborhood vibe with locals who regularly eat there, this is a world class chef who smokes his own meats and tries inventive and flavorful cuisine. Lovely. Nice bar also.

Amidst the tranquil streets and shops that make up Newton Highlands lies a forward-thinking restaurant that is known for producing bold flavors and inventive, Latin-influenced dishes. 51 Lincoln, the brainchild of chef/owner Jeffrey Fournier, has been a longtime staple of local residents, several of whom stroll into the bar on a busy Saturday evening and are warmly greeted by affable... We were in town for a graduation. Many of the downtown restaurants were full so remembering a Boston colleague's recommendation from several years ago, we were able to get late reservations for 51 Lincoln. The restaurant is a bit noisy and tables are close to one another. We were fortunate to be seated near the kitchen and were able to... More
