When you don't want a heavy, cheesy pizza!

When you don't want a heavy, cheesy pizza, Sweet Tomatoes is your best bet. Just a couple of tables for eating in but in nice weather, there is outside seating or a nearby park. Love their white pizzas.

I stopped in for a quick slice of pizza after going to the movies across the street. I had the slice of the day - which was eggplant and ricotta cheese. If you like your pizza with an extra crispy crust ask them to keep it in the oven a few more minutes and they will gladly oblige. They serve... More

Friends and I went for pizza before going to the movies the other night. After waiting at our table for 25 minutes we got up and inquired about our order. The girl at the counter said she forgot to put in our order. Her response was " oh well". I asked for a refund and left. No apology from the... More

Stick with the basic pizza and you will have one of the best Neapolitan pies in the region. Good salads as well. I imagine their other pizzas are outstanding, but we always go for the simple standards.

We had two different pizzas. One with traditional red sauce and basil and one with pesto sauce. The sauces were tasteless. The cheese uninspiring and rubbery. The crust was soggy. This is as far from the advertised Neopolitan pizza as Newton is from Naples.

This is a local favorite eatery - you can find couples and families here most weekends. A lot of people rave about their pizza, I'm ok with it, but happen to prefer deep dish myself. Nice, fresh ingredients though and if you like thin crust, a good place to go.

The pizza is among my favorite in the area, but every time I visit they seem to be understaffed and unable to take additional orders until the previous order is fully completed leading to long lines and frustrating waits. They also always seem to run out of sandwich ingredients on a regular basis which makes it hard for the non-pizza... More

This is probably the best Pizza in Newton. Thin crust is perfectly done, and their creations -- Pesto Splash, are inventive and tasty. Pizza is not cheap though -- $38.50 for two large Pizzas with two toppings each. No bargain, so it had better be good. The one downside is the service at the counter. If I did not love... More

There are a lot of pizza places in West Newton. None come close to Sweet Tomatoes. Thin crust, tasty toppings, and fresh ingredients. A slice is huge -- easily enough for lunch. If you sit down at one of the tables, note that the sun coming through the window is like a magnifying glass -- the stool seating is better!

We had a wonderful experience at Sweet Tomatoes. We brought 5 kids and they all really enjoyed the thin crust pizza. The woman at the counter was really helpful and attentive and they had the pizza ready exactly when they promised on the phone. The pizza was great: thin crust, chunks of tomatoes: very delicious and manageable!
