While working in Boston i went to Oishii hoping it would be a good sushi bar. I had looked on line and no one had good ratings near where I was staying. Decided to try this little sushi bar. It was just like Japan (I was just there in May 2013). Small only a few seats at the sushi bar... More

I've been to dozens of sushi restaurants all over the place, and this is one of the best. The sashimi is thick and melts in your mouth. Service is skilled and prompt. Highly recommended.

Tiny and intimate. Great to watch the sushi chefs. Everything is great, but we always have to have the Jeffrey roll which features a heated spicy crab and scallop topping. I had the king salmon sashimi and suggested it to my husband....melt in your mouth! A new roll for us, crazy roll, had egg, shrimp tempura, cucumber and a spicy... More

Unlike most of my well-traveled/well-cultured Trip Advisor peers, I have an unsophisticated palate and am far from being a sushi/sashimi aficionado. What I do know is that when I order from this place I end up paying a huge premium for sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls - and from my lowly vantage point, that premium these days is really not... More

Tasty, fresh, sushi. We love the maki rolls. Tiny sit-down bar, but it works just as well as take-out.

We took out from Oishii Chestnut Hill this evening: soft shell crab maki, Sea bass teriyaki, ikura, ika bana The crab was clearly pre cooked and over done to the point of disappearing in to the oily overcooked breading (the only other ingredient--visible or otherwise: shredded cucumber) . Also---very small portion of four pieces ($11). Sea bass: overcooked and swimming... More

Nice little place with seats mostly along the bar. I enjoyed quite and intense atmosphere in which the food is prepared by the team Oishii. Foodwise the most important thing for me is that all sushi and maki that I have tried had one thing in common: the original raw taste of ingredients which is not easy to find these... More

Well, I wish I could tell you that I've been to EVERY sushi place in America, but after eating at Oishii, I'd be hard-pressed to find any place better. Even during my visit to Japan, I didn't feel as though the sushi I had there was all that much better than what is offered at Oishii. This place DOES EVERYTHING... More

This place is small, you are really packed in there. It is good to call ahead 20 minutes and put your name in (they dont take reservations but they do call aheads). Either way it is worth any wait. This stuff is just one a different level than anything else you get around the area. You can go to the... More

I visited Oishii on a Saturday night, around 7:00pm. The restaurant is quite small and it was busy!: the single 4 person table and long sushi bar were both full. However, the wait was well-worth it. I had the Deluxe Sushi plate, which consists of 10 pieces of chef's choice nigiri (I got crab, octopus, shrimp, freshwater eel, salmon, and... More
