Delicious food, great restaurant

As soon as we enter, I liked it. The atmosphere is great, it seems going into an old time restaurant. This long corridor to reach the back of the restaurant's tables. I felt at ease and when we were served I confirmed my first impression, just great. We were a big family group of 12. We ate... read more

Sorry for no pictures. I did not think I would review this place, as have eaten there lots of times. But I have been there since it was sold last year (2014). I usually get the Rueben, omelettes, or salads. Good fare. Very consistent. But now to the NEW Johnny's. First, the design is slightly more modern, with many of... More

The waiters are super friendly and you'll love this place as soon as you walk in. The food is good, not fantastic, but the atmosphere and people make it worthwhile. The milkshakes are highly recommended, as well as the burgers.

The line tends to be long but it is absolutely worth it. The food is delicious! Definitely try the mini milkshakes- perfect size for indulging without ruining your appetite!

We stopped for breakfast while in Newton doing errands -the cheese blintzes were very good with a side of scrambled eggs - the prices are a bit on the high side, but it is Newton! The place has a nice retro feel ,and the waitress was very efficient and friendly- we were there around 9 AM , so there was... More

LOVE this place!! I've been here many times for breakfast/brunch and it's awesome. Great food & a lot of options. Service is pretty quick and the waiting staff is very friendly. Fun retro, family atmosphere and decent prices. Definitely try Pesto Chicken Sandwich or Johnny's Breakfast Burrito. Also $4 Mimosas :)

The food choices are huge, and the staff is friendly and appropriate. For certain functions this is a perfect place, but at this point I find the dishes just a bit too heavy for my taste. It's a good place for impromptu get-togethers, late-night can't-decide evenings, or even business lunches.

This is a delightful spot in beautiful Newton, MA. you most likely have to wait for a table during prime hours but the wait is worth it! Our wait staff was so pleasant and helpful and did not rush us at all. The fried blueberry muffins are to die for. Loved it went back the next day for an unforgettable... More

A lot of people seem to like Johnny's. Based on a single recent visit, I'm not sure why. It was OK in my view--and as a native New Yorker, I'll just assert that I know good deli. I tried the blintzes, a dish that's not really that hard to do well in my view. Johnny's version was very sugary--so much... More
