Went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast and waited about 2 min! Restaurant decor is attractive, coffee was refilled often (a must), food came out quickly. We (4) each had something different and agreed it was tasty. Would return.

Despite it's 12 dollar price tag, the Larry David sandwich (light pastrami and swiss on Rye) is the best sandwich I've had in a long time... And worth every penny. Can't comment much on the service, other than I took it to go and it came out quickly. If you're in Newton Center, try it. You won't be disappointed.

I had the chicken parm sandwich. It was dry and flavorless. My husband said his chicken salad sandwich was not as good as the one he'd had earlier in the week at The Chatham Squire. The women's room was out of order. Too kitschy for me.

I have only visited for breakfast foods, but never leave disappointed. Prices are very good and all guests I bring leave happy and full. I highly recommend the Waban Frittata. It is an open-faced omelette with mashed potatoes/bacon and cheddar cheese. Yummm!

We went to Jakes for the Chicken Matzo Soup and we LOVED it! It was delicious, full flavored and totally exceeded our expectations! Our waitress was friendly, efficient and gave us recommendations on other places to eat I the area.

Johnny's in a Newton is a sure thing for a tasty breakfast with the family. The casual food diner has lots of options and will satisfy all ages! On a recent visit, I had a terrific bowl of their home-made hot cereal and my kids enjoyed pancakes and french toast.

Johnny's is a neighborhood classic (with walls covered by high school class photos). They have both booth and counter service and can be counted on for excellent breakfast, brunch, and deli fare. The place can get very crowded at lunch time and on weekends. The only downside is that the servers (who seem mostly to be high school and local... More

I love the idea of this place - a casual family diner serving a wide range of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Sadly as often as not, I find the food just ok. Steer clear of the salads - we've had a few experiences with less than fresh ingredients there. If you stick to the classic diner fare, you'll be... More

Great menu. So many choices. Get there early on the weekends because the lines are usually out the door. Family run and the staff always has a smile on their face. They are very accommodating with special requests. The only problem it's just always busy! Big portions are a plus. My favorite is the hash

I've been coming here almost every Saturday for 5 years and it never gets old! Maybe it's because I'm a regular, but the service is really personal: our waitress brings our coffee order right over when we arrive and she tries to keep our usual spot at the counter open for us. I usually get the Waverly (smoked salmon, eggs,... More
