My husband and I frequently eat at Lumiere, one of the best restaurants in the Boston area. We recently ate at Lumiere to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Their food is consistently delicious -- we especially love their vegetable-based soups. At our recent meal, we both enjoyed their wonderful Arctic char tartar. Service is superb -- ask for Katie, she's great!... More

This is simply one of the VERY best restaurants around here! The tasting menu is always worth it, if you do not need to drive it's worth going for the wine pairings, too. The place is very pretty, and the service is excellent. An absolutely wonderful place!

The food is excellent and the service impeccable. A bit pricey as you'd expect but still worth the trip out to Newton from Boston.

Traditional French food but with warm service done by long -term staff. If we have a special occasion and need a place in Newton, this is it.

Located in Newton, it's a short taxi ride from the Crown Plaza Newton (see review). From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but inside it's very elegant, as you would expect for a French restaurant. The service was excellent. The options were great. On this night (a Thursday night), there was a prefix that gave you 3 courses and... More

Returned here for another visit. Food was as always interesting and well prepared. Fresh pea soup followed by Morrocan duck breast. The duck breast perfectly cooked and not overwhelmed by the Morrocan influenced spices. The rhubarb tart ( in season ) just right. Service, friendly and efficient. Meal accompanied by an interesting Portugese red wine.

One of the great advantages of this superb restaurant is that it is across the street from an equally excellent art cinema which features the best movies from around the globe. You will not be disappointed with the choices on Lumière's menu, just as you will surely find a movie at the West Newton Cinema that you will enjoy beyond... More

We haven't been to Lumiere in many years but stopped in before seeing a movie at the West Newton Cinema. Lucky for us there were two seats at the bar. Every staff member was efficient, friendly and relaxed. The drinks were wonderful and the food was the best I've had in a very long time. It's a little more expensive... More

Lumiere - Newton, MA - 4/15/2015 It may not look like much on the outside but I have a feeling that whatever lay beyond the front doors was something quite spectacular... For parking they share the CVS parking lot across the street. Not knowing this I emptied a dollar fifty into the meter not realizing they don't enforce after six... More

Welcoming and helpful service service, delicious food and some fine beers. Worth facing the Newton parking challenges for. Would go again.
