A pleasure for foodies and special occasions alike -- we've always found the food exquisite and the staff outstanding! Imaginative dishes and locally-sourced ingredients, and an extensive wine list. A gem in Newton worthy of Newbury St!

We are local and have dined here several times over the years. In recent months, even the last couple years I would say it is less noteworthy as a fine dining restaurant, at one time it was, but for the money there may be better options out there for you.

The food is first rate. -the waitperson was intrusive in an overly friendly way, however, the food is way above average.

Lumiere is hands down our favorite restaurant in the Boston suburbs. Ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible, sustainable, and of course, fresh. Chef Leviton has perfected the set ups for his dishes over time, and some of these remain consistent on the menu with a change in the type of fish or cut of meat. The mustard vinaigrette served throughout... More

This is a quiet restaurant where one can talk general conversation 7 think about the food without being defended by the music.. Over a number of visits it has consistently served excellent meals. The wait staff is knowledgable. It has a g ood wine list

Had a birthday party here with superb service and food that was judged as one of the best meals they ever by all twelve participants. To have that number of diners agree that a meal of "Contemporary French" food was exceptional speaks for itself. I would recommend Luminiere to anyone who'd like to have an exceptional eating experience.

For a few years after it opened, Lumiere was an outstanding restaurant, meals were often memorabe for quality and creativity. Now it seems somewhat ordinary, and one of the waiters (who we always seem to get) is distinctly unpleasant. Don't know his name, but he is tall, thin, and quite arrogant, capable of ruining a dinner with his overbearing presence.

Always excited when we go to Lumiere, whether for a romantic dinner together, a celebration evening with friends, or even a business dinner. The service is friendly and very knowledgeable, without being condescending. The bread (I am fussy about bread) is perfect, and the food always sensational - literally a feast for the senses: beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, wonderfully... More

Love the food here, basic menu, but oh so tasty! The creme brûlée is the best ever! Always choose Lumiere for any celebration

two of us had the steak frites, but the special one that day with 12 oz ribeye, so not really a steak frites. the meat was delicious, although my piece had some big chunks of gristle, which because of the sauce was hard to notice until it was in my mouth. quite unpleasant. my wife's pasta dish was very good,...
