Go here several times a year because it is consistently among the best meals in Boston: inventive without being silly, seasonal, deeply flavored. Service and wine list are very good, decor tastefully unobtrusive. One of the few "safe" recommendations I would make in Boston and better than most of the famous competitors. more

If the bill wasn't quite so steep, I'd have given Lumiere 5 stars -- the food is that good. The setting is cosy, the staff friendly and welcoming, and the food delicious. So if you are prepared to pay, I wholeheartedly recommend Lumiere. more

Went for winter restaurant week. Very inventive flavor combinations. I really liked my cauliflower-leek soup with a dollop of curried crab salad in the middle. The entrees were a bit more traditional but solidly so. Desserts were also full of flavor. more

Nice for an evening out. It is a bit too well lit for me - I prefer Ariadne which has soft lighting and an atmosphere conducive to a long lingering evening eating. That said, food is very good. more
