Unaccommodating Condescension

We have eaten at Lumiere before and enjoyed it. We had a reservation for 5 this weekend, including one family member who has a special diet. When we called to inquire if it was possible to accommodate this bland diet restriction, the reservationist declared that they could not help us out. When I... read more

We dined here a few nights ago with friends we had not seen for some time, and it was actually their suggestion because they love the place. We can see why. The restaurant is small enough to be cozy, and our booth was quiet enough for normal conversation, which was especially important this time, given the circumstances. I had the... More

It had been many years since I had dined at Lumiere, and I was eager to see if the restaurant would still deliver the excellence I remembered. There is a slight aura of mystery as you approach the restaurant, with light seeping out from the edges of the full-length window blinds that don't allow you to see inside. We were... More

My husband and I had been wanting to try Lumiere for some time because of excellent reviews. We had heard the staff and ambiance could be a bit stuffy, but did not find that to be the case at all. Atmosphere is casual and, at least, the waitperson we had was very gracious. The amuse bouche was truly unremarkable..something with... More

Delicious food for appetizers, main course, and dessert. House wine list had really good choices. This is an upscale place and very busy, so be sure to make reservations in advance. Impeccable and knowledgeable service.

This is our go to place for special occasions as it is so 'special'! Just go! You will see and taste. Don't miss the soup! The wine pairings are perfect. The staff is top notch. The menu is wonderful and ever changing. If you want the tartar, ask for it right when you sit down. It goes fast!

We went to this restaurant one evening in December. I particularly never like to dine with people other than the person(s) I have a date with. Crowded atmosphere. Greeting staff were kind. Server was good, but hard to track down. Food presentation was wonderful. Small portions. My biggest qualm was that I found, although the food was very tastey, I... More

Nice place also for groups, the Lumiere proposes a menù that always changes to include new surprises every time. Food quality is great; the staff is sometimes a little intrusive, but overall a good experience. They propose a "meal deal" including 3 courses, but since everything was already organised, I cannot judge the quality/price ratio of this option.

My husband had the tasting menu and I had a couple of appetizers for our anniversary dinner; everything was very well prepared. Their cocktail list is inventive and fresh.

We went for dinner on Bew Years Eve. They were offering a fixed menu of three courses. There were ample choices for each course and both my husband and I enjoyed our meals. The service was friendly and attentive even on what was a busy night. Would go again.
