They not only messed up our reservations for a party of 8 but then suggested I was lying. Yes, yes the owner did. Unbelievable but true. Finally he states we can come 2 hours earlier than planned (only ½ hour the time I'm calling which means we have to rush from NASHUA, NH to get there) and he can fit... More

We've been to Tartufo several times over the past few months. It is sometimes hard to get reservations; it is a small restaurant with small capacity, so reservations are recommended (but not absolutely necessary if you are flexible and willing to wait). The wait staff is authentic Italian--helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. Tucked away on a small side-street in Newton Center,... More

The restaurant was selected by our friends after their daughter graduated from Wellesley College. This was our first visit to Boston so relied on their local knowledge; what a great choice. We were seated after a short wait as we arrived later than anticipated but were greeted with a smile. The menu offered a great selection of authentic Italian food... More

Beautiful atmosphere, warm and inviting staff, loveable hard working owners, and food that is so delicious!!!! We have been coming to Tartufo since it opened and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. The food is cooked to order, and special requests, if can, will be made. The menu has wonderful, regular favorites on it and does change seasonally. The Caesar... More

We ate at Tartufo in Newton Center, Massachusetts on a recent Sunday evening. The restaurant was nearly empty which gave us some pause as this was our first time at this establishment. Our fears were unfounded. The food was quite good with a predominance of Southern Italian dishes, many of them classics. Our meal was very good and the service... More

I loved this place because the veal was so delicious! You get 2 pieces of veal and the flavor was spot on. I had spaghetti and meatballs (a custom order) but mine was more like an appetizer. My family had the veal. This is luxury dining.

Tartufo is a small neighborhood restaurant located on a small hilltop overlooking the center. We have been eating there since we moved to town 3 years ago. It is a lively, yet romantic ambiance similar to what you would find in Italy and Europe today. The food is so tasty and awakens your senses. We enjoy sharing the tuna tartare,... More
