Good brunch but a bit slow

I've been at this location several times and each time is pretty good. This time we came for Sunday brunch. Omelettes are good but don't expect them to be huge like you get a your local diner. Potatoes that come with breakfast are seasoned well but ours were undercooked. Best part of the meal was... read more

Do not try it. Manager is rude and impolite. Waiter forget the orders and the food come cold and not what you ordered. Don't waist your time and go to this Resturant.

The service at the cottage was warm and commodious. The fare was light and yet filling. The decor was peaceful and not intrusive. Location in the new "The Street" shopping ensemble in Chestnut Hill/Newton is the perfect location and compliment to the theatre and shopping.

I wish the Turkey burger was not so well cooked. I think you should take that off your menu. Also I wish the server asked me if wanted something else in place of French Fries. I didn't like my food. My chopped salad was OK, but I had better salads elsewhere. Others in my family were satisfied with what they... More

A couple of years ago my family had dinner at The Cottage in Wellesley and I just got back to the Newton location. The on-line reservation process was easy and we had a minimal wait time. Menu was widely varied and almost everything sounded wonderful. We especially enjoyed the goat cheese appetizer and the short ribs. Way too full for... More

The feel of this place is always nicely energized, and the menu is original enough to earn return visits. Portions are small, so in the end it classifies as a bit over-priced.

We had a small work lunch there in early March, and the food and service were both very good. I highly recommend the fish tacos, very good, nicely fried fish was great with the guacamole, and with a small portion of beans on the side, was just about the right size for lunch. The decor is generally very light and... More

What a great restaurant. It accommodates all sizes of parties. It has a light and airy feeing and helps you forget about winter. But the best part is the food is delicious! Chicken Milanese, lobster nachos, salads, polenta, steak. Everything is delicious and fairly priced considering the location and clientele. Great service too. You won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed a late lunch here. Lovely, spacious room. Quiet enough for working lunch. Attentive service. Beautiful seaside cottage atmosphere with lovely art. Fish was prepared perfectly, as were the vegetables.

Excellent service. Simple, nice quite atmosphere. I loved the grilled Tuna melt on Focachia bread. Just the right amount if french fries. Nice and crispy. Could only finish half of the sandwich. My friend had quiche and salad and enyoyed it very much. We have been back again and had the same good service and good food. Only 4 stars... More
