We often go to Aji when we get the feeling for Japanese food or want lite fare. It reminds me of some of the small restaurants I remember from being in Japan long ago. My biggest problem is deciding what I want to eat since there are 11 Cold appetizers,18 Hot appitizers,9 Soups & Salads, 10 Noodles and Rice, 22... More

Aji has some of the best sushi in the area. The menu is pretty varied, and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. I do agree with some of the comments about the service -- that's certainly not the strongest element of this place. The servers are often distracted or unavailable, and it's a small place that can get busy and... More

It's the best option if you are in the Newtonville / West Newton area . Good quality food and service . Nice to go with friends , family or a date . We also order to go sometimes on our way home .

I wanted to treat myself to some sushi and sake. So i went here and I have eaten here before. The waitress was attentive when I first walked in and then she got on her phone and never looked up at me again. I had to get up from my table at least 2 times and go to where she... More

I love sushi, and this is place is local, convient, and tasty. Prices are decent for the area. I went with friends and we were all happy. We started with a house salad, and they were huge, dressing was interesting, I would probably get it on the side. And they are large enough to share. We got several varities of... More

Made a last minute decision to go here in an area of town that I don't usually frequent. It was a warm evening and that brought a lot of people out and about. The place was full, but they managed to find some seats for us. Originally they almost let us walk out the door instead of just recommending that... More

Nice neighborhood Sushi place in Newtonville. Not too fancy, but decent quality sushi at a reasonable price. Lunch specials are very good as well.

Excellent decor in this little neighborhood. The food is very good, and fits the style. We enjoyed maki and teriyaki chicken, both were very good.

Aji is our favorite. Whenever we want to introduce a friend to the world of sushi this is where we bring them. You should try: Princess maki, New wave maki, Black forest maki, Kings maki, and Dr Bob's maki. The seaweed salad and the avocado salad are also excellent.

We go to Aji and also order food very often. Sushi is always excellent, fresh and nicely presented. Service is fast and the staff is polite and attentive. Very reasonably priced food for a place like Newton (very upscale and expensive city in Massachusetts). It is so nice that finally we have a restaurant that people enjoy (after multiple attempts...
