My Favorite Place

Spent every summer of my boyhood city in this wonderful city and lived here in the war years 1943-45. Ambience the same over the decades, as are the wonderful waitresses....but oh, my....the best fried clams in all of New Engtand....still! Same perfected sea fare.

Stopped here for a late dinner on our way to Maine. Read reviews on tripadvisor and decided to try. We had never had fried clams so that's what we ordered. They were very good. Not greasy. Fries also not greasy. Owner? Brought our food and check. Waitress only took our order and never came back.

I drove from Maine to go to Park Lunch in Newburyport, MA for the fried clams. It was well worth the trip! Best clams in the 3 states (Maine, NH, Mass), really. Great service, no frills, great fried scallops and fries too. Waitress said they change the oil in the fryers often so the food is not greasy. Yum!

It is a local place which is always a sure sign that the food will be good. However I wasn't prepared to have the best fried shrimp I have ever eaten. They were so well prepared, the batter was light and the shrimp were perfectly cooked, firm to the bite. My husband had the fried whole belly clams and he... More

After years of hearing positive comparisons between the fried clams at Choate Bridge Pub and the Clam Box (both in Ipswich), and Park Lunch, we finally got up to a late afternoon weekday feast at Park Lunch. The waitress was professional, pleasant and efficient and we were absolutely delighted by the fried clams and the seafood chowder. The latter was... More

I've been searching for THE BEST fried clams for years, and I think that I may have found them! The clams here are moist yet have a crispy coating, and the flavor is intense . So fresh! Truthfully, I only ate the clams, because the servings are so large, and the beer was frosty and there was a large choice... More

"Steak Fries" are not thick like years past and should be call "Fries". Scallops are cut into quarter -pieces to make the plate look full. "Crab Meat " is Pollack/crab and way over priced for what it is. The Park Lunch USED TO BE a great value for lots of good food. It has gone down hill. You can tell... More

If it's fresh seafood you are seeking, then Park Lunch is the local gathering for such fried delicacies. Daily specials are affordable and hit the spot each time. Waitstaff is occasionally hit or miss, so we sit at the bar whenever possible to experience better service. Haven't been disappointed by the food ever! Eat in or take out is offered.... More

This is where the people who live in this town of 10 cent millionaires live, eat. This was a well kept secret. Best fried seafood in Newburyport....end of story. Actually its all good food. Great family place, good value. A pretty diverse menu. So keep it low....

If your looking to impress a first date, this is not the place to go. If you want to rub elbows with the Newburyport locals and have a great inexpensive meal, then you found the right place. Pak Lunch is the best locals restaurant in town with PBR on draft and the best fried clams between here and Ipswitch/Essex. Great... More
