My friends and (party of 8) went here to celebrate a special occasion. Hearing that it was a popular place, we made a reservation for 8pm over a month in advance, but when we arrived, the server said they had forgotten we were coming! They sat us in the (crowded and noisy) bar area to let us have a drink... More

We have lived in Newburyport for nearly 2 years and have visited Loretta many times. The food is always good … I have had their steak frites several times, while my wife savors their plate of ribs and we always been totally satisfied. The owner, Ted, personally greets all his patrons - Loretta was his mother. You will not be disappointed... More

We drove back to this quaint cafe yesterday and were just as pleased as we were last year! Food great and service exemplary! We will be back when we are in the area!

Have been eating at Loretta's since it opened. The food is always good. Usually try the specials but the standard menu always has many options. The staff makes you feel like a "regular" whether it's your first meal there or your thirtieth. One of Newburyport's gems!

The food and service were excellant. disappointed there was no cappuccino. Small place but tables were not squeezed on top of each other, able to enjoy dinner conversation, were not over powered by surrounding noise.

The reviews for this restaurant made me expect that it would be something exceptional. In fact, there are other places nearby that would qualify for that adjective, but not Loretta. Good sandwiches--my pulled pork with barbecue sauce was very tender and flavorful, but the salads seemed rather pedestrian and the soups just average. We did not stay for dessert.

A nearby merchant sales clerk recommended this spot as a locals favorite; we sure discovered why! The Portobello mushroom sandwich was absolutely delicious and the service was so professional, prompt and friendly. This is a must stop spot in Newburyport!

It is absolutely fine, very plain, nothing exciting at all, sort of like eating at your own house when you are not being particularly creative. Service pleasant. Have eaten here before and continue to be confused by its popularity. However, Newburyport is lacking in any foodie restaurants since the only excellent restaurant, Enzos, closed. We drive to Portsmouth for good... More

My first value for a restaurant has to do with noise. Can I have a quiet conversation? Based on a yelp review that said it was quiet, I tried Loretta. We sat what should have been the quietest table in the joint, but it was not. We came after 1PM for lunch, hoping it might be more quiet. It wasn't.... More

People that don't use a mobility aid probably don't realize that many Newburyport eateries aren't accessible. Age allows them to skirt ADA guidelines. The owners of though, installed a small ramp making it possible for everyone to enjoy. I made a point to thank the owner. On the food front, everything is good but on my most recent meal on... More
