Really good comfort food and good drinks. The soup homemade soup was delicious for the cold day it was, and they had a good variety of sandwiches for lunch. It was also open for dinner.

I'm a local and this restaurant is cute and charming and the wait staff is terrific. But this is my second time here and the food is good but not great. I actually really like the menu but both times I've ordered something it was simply okay. Last time it was the grilled Cesar salad - Id had that before... More

Recently sat at the bar for dinner at Loretta. Very nice little space and the place was full and lively. We just felt that the food was average at best. My wife had the scallops and it was nothing more than scallops in a broiler dish with butter and some rice on the side...I have noticed they are no longer... More

We dined here last week after enjoying an afternoon show at the NSMT in Beverly. It was our first time. Although the room is small (I understand they amy be moving to larger quarters before too long), it was quite cozy. Service and fare were very good. The menu is not exhaustive but daily specials are offered. All in all,... More

We were in Newburyport for the night and at the last minute decided to try Loretta. Place is small, and tables are close together. At 7:30 they were out of one of the evening's specials, swordfish, and also out of salmon and chicken. Since their kitchen was open for two more hours, this should have been better planned. We tried... More

Before heading out to Newburyport for their annual Fall Harvest Festival, I researched lunch places here on Tripadvisor. Because of the great write ups, I chose Loretta's. We arrived a little before noontime and were seated right away. The hostess gave us menus and then licked her finger to separate off one copy of the daily specials which were printed... More

My wife and I were traveling from Boston to Portland, ME by way of costal roads. We were hungry and stopped in Newburyport looking for a nice and reasonably priced place to eat. Wow, it was our lucky day when we found Loretta!!! Very nice looking restaurant from the street in a great part of town. We had the lobster... More

We went for lunch. It was busy - nice to grab the last table. I went with the lobster roll, hey, based on where I was. There brioche roll was a little too big for the sandwich. The lobster was delicious. They don't limit what they put in the roll. Nice little setting.

The food, drink and service was excellent. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. I have brunch, lunch and dinner at this establishment and have always been satisfied.

Four of us each had an entree, split two appetizers, had two cocktails, three beers and two glasses of wine for a grand total of $144 for the four of us. The swordfish special was perfect, the salmon "excellent" as was the pork chop and the shrimp scampi. Our first but not our last time there. Also, the owner had... More
