Disappointed

WE live in Needham and went to Blue on Highland when it first opened. We were not impressed with either the food or the service. We decided to try it again with the new menu. The drinks and appetizers were great ( shrimp and scallops) It was downhill from there. My husband had the roast chicken... read more

It's rare that I review a restaurant twice, but Blue on Highland has changed so dramatically since my last visit that I feel obligated to Trip Advisor readers to review it again. This restaurant recently remodeled, and what was an enchanting restaurant with lovely art work, blue walls and a refined ambiance, has been redecorated in a monochromatic scheme (read... More

Went here in June and reviewed it then, suddenly a couple weeks later the windows were covered with paper and no sign up saying what was going on! Confirmed with my friends at Town Pizza that they were doing a "significant remodel", and indeed they did! The whole place has been transformed. Lots more wood and metal, waiter told us... More

My second time for lunch here. If you plan to go right at 12-1 pm it is best to make a reservation as this place fills up. There is seating at the bar but I think the kitchen can get slammed when it is super busy. Last time I went at 12:30 and this time at 2 pm - it... More

it was actually great! I miss Heights Pharmacy as much as the next local, but Blue on Highland has turned out to be a long lasting pillar of the neighborhood. The burgers and pizza and poke have always been good (although the poke has gotten a bit pricey), and you always knew you were going to get a good meal,... More

We had been here once before, years ago, but had been holding a gift card for some time --- won in a silent auction. It had no expiration date, luckily. The decor and service were excellent, and even the occasional nearby commuter train sounds lent a romantic touch, surprisingly enough. The food was a bit uneven: my duck was well... More

I'm a town resident for 20 yrs. I would love to like this place due to its location. But I just can't. It's like a siren song. It has the look of a Newbury St., Boston restaurant-complete with wide open windows and a pretty Decour. But it's all a facade! Greats lace for beers and MAYBE an appetizer. But the... More

This well equipped spot offers good service, great spirits, and great food. Even after a calamari appetizer was a bit over cooked, the staff quickly fixed the problem and we moved on to a wonderful meal of salmon, and their seafood risotto special. Hats off to the chef who created the risotto recipe for both dishes as the flavor added... More

Blue on Highland offers a terrific, upscale dining experience in the heart of Needham Heights, within walking distance of the commuter rail station. As passengers from the Boston train had just disembarked one weekday evening, the lively bar filled up quickly. The dining room is large with large modern artwork on the walls; fortunately, tasteful restraint of the color blue... More
