Description: What does creative casual cuisine mean? Exactly what it says. We"re creative, because we reject the same-old-same-old in favor of tastes that are interesting and unique. So I am a once a week take-out girl at Not Your Average Joe's. The latest and tastiest item menu is the Cranberry-teriyaki chicken w/ butternut squash cannelloni and sauteed spinach. Delicious combination of flavors. Although my chicken breast was very over cooked, the delicious combo of flavors made up for it. I absolutely despise sauteed spinach and this was... More

We enjoyed our visit as the service and cocktails were very good. The bread with specially mixed olive oil was tasty, while waiting for our food. The chicken lettuce cups were good but the coconut shrimp was just ok. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and appeared to be premade. The salads were crisp and flavorful.

This restaurant is consistently fabulous handling my children's multiple food allergies. They are accommodating in every way. Additionally, the staff is friendly and helpful and the food is great. If you like scallops, order the rosemary skewered scallops - this is a fantastic dish in both taste and presentation. My kids always order the pizza (light sauce, extra cheese so... More

We stopped over for lunch after a long run in the morning. A friend had given us this restaurant's name and told us he really liked it. We did not really search for it but as we were looking for a restaurant, it just happened that an add by the road was advertising this restaurant so we stopped by. My... More

Do love the bread but you fill up on it. Service was very good. Menu choices are always fantastic and creative. The ahi tuna salad was amazing with seaweed salad. The crab cake sandwich was very good. The bottomless nonalcoholic drinks don't hurt either and continued to come without our asking. NYAJ now carries Nantucket vineyard wines, beer, and vodka.... The food and drinks were good but the place was so noisy that I couldn't enjoy my meal. It is in the Loop Shopping mall so it is convenient when running errands. I'm not sure that I will be back.

The bread and oil here is like no other. If that's all they were serving, I would definitely stop in for that and a drink. Drinks here are reasonable and a good size. Had the Front Porch and liked it very much. It was a rum drink similiar to a mojito. We had a pizza and I loved it. Thin... More

Overall, this is still a good place to go. There have never been any food quality issues, plating is nice and cocktails are well priced. It is not quite the same as when it opened, when absolutely everything was top notch. The portions have shrunk over the years and some of the ingredient substitutions are not that great (previous reviewer... More

Through the years we've stopped at the Methuen NYAJ's on our way from New Hampshire to attend events in Boston. But lately, I've become turned off. For instance, my very favorite entree was the rosemary scallops, but slowly the pancetta in the risotto turned into bacon, the butternut squash in the dish is M.I.A., and the scallop portion is now...
