Have always had excellent food and service at Bistro 5. Love the pasta with wild boar ragu. My husband can never pick just one dish and always gets multiple courses. The chefs are creative. Waiting for the special tomato season menu to come out soon since it is always delicious.

The food was outstanding and the wine excellent! The menu changes seasonally, but their scallop dishes are apparently always popular and I found this to be well deserved. My husband enjoyed his quail. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient, and answered our questions about the food and the restaurant. We will be delighted to return when next we pass... More

Great authentic Italian cuisine, excellent service and home style cooking. You can't get better than that. Our table was late because other dinners were lingering at their tables, totally understandable! The Chef/ owner immediately greeted us and apologized for the inconvenience and offered us a complimentary appetizer which was not necessary and then the magic began! The appetizers were exquisite... We've been to Bistro 5 many times, and it's always worth what is for us a considerable trip. Beautifully executed food, attentive service, reasonably priced. The presence of the chef/owner is a big part of why this works so well.

This is a very good neighborhood gem. Not the usual fare, the chef uses a mix of creativity and basics to offer original fare with great taste.

Upscale; excellent chef. Seasonal menu. Somewhat expensive and smallish portions. Definitely the most elegant place in the area.

We live in the neighborhood and can walk to Bistro 5. Our first experience was just after they opened many years ago...we keep going back and they keep getting better. For a raucously funny night, ask if Nigel is working and sit at one of his tables. Definitely get on their mailing list so you know when it's truffle season,... More

Best authentic Italian restaurant in the Boston area, none of this North End pasta and meatballs smothered in red sauce. Never liked the eggplant until I had the tower, so tasty and creamy. Everything on the menu keeps your taste buds salivating. Finish off your meal with some homemade sorbet. Don't skip this beat, if you do your better be... More
