Great restaurant many years ongoing. Always consistent. Great place for a special occasion. Occasionally they have seasonal dining and wine pairings . Ask for Vittoria the owner.

We opened with the salt cod aranchini, nice mellow fish taste and great texture. Went on to the crispy tuna--it was awesome, thin crisp crust, still super rare and delicious, last was the rabbit, perfectly cooked, juicy and tender, profiterols for dessert, the only mediocre point, was good but not great. Found a great value on the wine list, enjoyed... More

When you need a special place for a quiet dinner but want to avoid the typical city hubbub, try Bistro 5 in Medford, MA. It's cozy with service that's attentive, knowledgeable and not obtrusive. The contemporary Italian menu is diverse, comes well plated, fairly priced, not overly complicated and most importantly delicious. The menu changes regularly, this season is for... More

Bistro 5 is a very good restaurant and a great place for a special occasion dinner without driving to Boston. The ambience is lovely - intimate, quiet, very friendly and nicely decorated in understated tones and soft lighting. The food is really quite good and the service is superb - attentive, skilled, and helpful, but not stuffy or overbearing. The... More

Have always had excellent food and service at Bistro 5. Love the pasta with wild boar ragu. My husband can never pick just one dish and always gets multiple courses. The chefs are creative. Waiting for the special tomato season menu to come out soon since it is always delicious.

The food was outstanding and the wine excellent! The menu changes seasonally, but their scallop dishes are apparently always popular and I found this to be well deserved. My husband enjoyed his quail. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient, and answered our questions about the food and the restaurant. We will be delighted to return when next we pass... More

Great authentic Italian cuisine, excellent service and home style cooking. You can't get better than that. Our table was late because other dinners were lingering at their tables, totally understandable! The Chef/ owner immediately greeted us and apologized for the inconvenience and offered us a complimentary appetizer which was not necessary and then the magic began! The appetizers were exquisite... We've been to Bistro 5 many times, and it's always worth what is for us a considerable trip. Beautifully executed food, attentive service, reasonably priced. The presence of the chef/owner is a big part of why this works so well.
