South Coast Local Diner has a new name~The Mattapoisett Diner. New owners. Have to say the food was delicious. Hubby got great scallops, friends got the liver~good-sized portions, another got the clam chowder & tuna roll. Tuna roll was stuffed and she enjoyed it. The chowder was good she said, but the bowl probably should have been heated before adding... More

I keep trying to go, based on some referrals---but every time I consider going it's CLOSED! Heard the food was great---but I can't see how a place can stay in business if it's doors are locked.

Beautiful real deal diner. Friendly waitresses. love their eggs and the belgian waffles. You can wait in line on the weekend if you happen to arrive at the wrong time but it moves along. The owners also cater barbecue at the westport vineyards summer concert series which is a great treat too.

This restaurant is a pure delight with its great American cuisine and awesome customer service. Once you sit down you’ll nod with approval as you observe the workmanship used to create this 1950’s diner with its stainless walls and formica counter tops. My wife and I had heard about this little gem from a friend who could not say enough... More

Had tried this place earlier in the year for dinner. The woman (we assumed was an owner) was SO pleasant and passionate about the restaurant and the food. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. Atmosphere was quiet and casual diner setting and the BBQ was great. Unfortunately, after we raved about this place to friends and family, we've been back... More

Over battered greasy onion rings and rude staff... Decor of the place is a cute 50's diner.... The food was overpriced ( we got two breakfast entrees, 2 blts and a grilled cheese and onion rings)...service was atrocious

Stopped at this diner over the weekend after a "road trip" with the grandkids. We were all quite surprised not only with the food but the employees are about the friendliest we have ever encountered. Kids ordered grilled cheese and hot dog, Nana had the fried chicken sandwish and Papa had the double cheeseburger. All were yummy and came with... More

The 1st time I went here I loved it...it was a late Sunday brunch and the eggs benedict were perfect. I though the hollondaise was sublime. I went back the following week and waited forever for service and almost got up and walked out it took so long for the waitress to get to my table...There was a great deal... More

It's funny...we go soewhere every Sunday for breakfast, sometimes driving long distances to try a new place and The Southcoast Local is 10 minutes from the house. Hadn't been since the new owners took it over. BIG MISTAKE !!! The food was incredible, the service was fast & friendly and the menu had loads of specials that were different...creative and... More
