Yes, there is limited parking. It is very crowded and for non-M'headers hard to find. But everyone we've taken to the Barnacle from all over the world remembers it as what they thought a harborside New England restaurant should be. Other than last July 4th when they didn't have lobsters, we've always had a memorable, fun dinner. Even the "sans... More

Fun restaurant especially during late June before the of rush of summer. You like boiled lobster well you have come to right establishment. Wait for outer table for the view. Before your eyes there 2700 sailboats. Weds night specials are the best deal in town.

I have always enjoyed the clam chowder at The Barnacle. The location is outstanding to view the harbor and enjoy the activity in it during the summer months. The menu has a lot of fried food items, particularly seafood. Dana and Connie Denault Marblehead, MA

Lunch on a Monday, with a friend and an infant. Best time to go. Mostly empty, and gracious seating. Excellent service, but unfortunately the much ballyhooed muscles were .... Ordinary. However, the onion strips were superb from the fish and chips entree. Not a destination restaurant for me. But then, I'm from Boston and visited Provincetown regularly, so my standards... More

I have been going or coming here for 27 years I think now. It is my daughters number 1 and a must when she comes home from San Francisco. I must laugh however because we love the chowder with grill cheese and a salad. Everything on the menu is good but we just keep to our regular and the friendly... More

You can't get fish that is better or fresher anywhere! Haddock right off the boat and prepared perfectly baked or fried .

I went there with friends as a fellow colleague had recommended this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. We had the Lobster Bisque as a starter and it was creamy and delicious. Then for a main course we had the baked sea scallops and I was so happy to get a baked potato and steamed broccoli with it as I am... More

It's clearly a locals hangout and I was welcomed in as one as soon as I sat down. Great steamers, the delicious lobster roll is simply massive chunks of meat in a warm bun with either butter or mayo, & the Wed. Night Lobster Special is a ridiculously good deal. Very lively bar scene..good fresh seafood, good drink, & a... More

We were referred here for lunch on New Year's Day by a Marblehead local. What a great way to start off the New Year. Small, cozy, casual, buzzing with local conversation at the bar, we sat at the windows overlooking Marblehead Harbor. Incredible view. Enjoyed our chowder and lightly battered oysters. Go for the view, go for the local flavor,... More

We spied the Wednesday Night Special on a board outside the Barnacle when we were in Marblehead in September. It looked too good to be true, but it wasn't. We couldn't believe how reasonable, and good, the two lobsters were we each had. We ate for two for less than we would eat for one in Australia and had to... More
