A must do in Marblehead!

Very rustic but right on the water. Good fried food. The fried clams are the best. Generous drinks. Friendly atmosphere. You can't beat the water views.

It has a good rep but I prefer The landing, Good Food & Good Service. It seems everyone visits the Barnackle when visitng Marblehead. But when givin the opportunity I suggest "The Landing" instead:)

Not as much seating as you would like but if you are lucky enough to get an outside seat if the weather is right then you are there for the best view. The food is passable but keep in mind that the view is what you are paying for

I went to the Barnacle many times when I (a Brit) lived in Marblehead & I have been back since. The food is uncomplicated, but very well-prepared (lobster, clams). Very little surpasses the location - overlooking the Atlantic - and the atmosphere is pleasant (simple, authentic). The bar staff also made a terrific Bloody Mary. Definitely worth going out of... We had a great meal here our first night in town! Loved the views and the service was warm and home. Lobster fresh off he boat and butternut squash the best veggie ever!

This used to be a fun place with good food. Son of owner took it over and has systematically destroyed it. Fuad now from a frozen bag. Prices doubled. He gets away with it for the views and Jim is a gold bartender. What a shame the man has no pride. Don't go.

Definitely a local hangout. Good fried seafood and healthy drink pours. Really great location on the water.

Let me first tell you I am a seafood fanatic. If you want good seafood this is NOT the place to get it. The food was minimal. It looks like a lot because they pile a lot of fries on the plate. The seafood platter for $25.00 is a joke. 3 scallops 3 shrimp and a dozen of the nastiest... More

This is a bar for drinking. It has a decent location right on the water but it is readily apparent that locals come here to work off steam. The restaurant closed at 8:00 on a Saturday night and the wine was terrible. I am not a wine snob but the offerings were just awful. This is a beer/hard liquor type... More

This was my first trip to the east coast with my group of Midwest friends so we wanted to try as much seafood as possible. This was the first place we dined (recommended to us by Nancy from Pheasant Hill B&b) and at by the end of the trip it was unanimous that this was the best chowder we had.... More
