Wonderful location. Good Food, Good Servicd

We recently met a few other couples at The Porthole Pub for a late lunch. The menu is large with something for everyone. The portions were ample with good service. The prices were very reasonable for what we ordered. We will return again

This place is a gem. It's very old school in style (think booths covered in vinyl and sides served in monkey dishes.) The menu is straightforward. Super fresh seafood. Classic meat and potatoes. The only place I ever go to for baked stuffed lobsters. The Ritz and butter crumb stuffing along with a ton (ok, maybe not a ton) of... More

Varied menu. Food was great and served hot. We went on a Saturday evening and really enjoyed the entertainment (Randy Hawkes) Great variety of music

If your looking for a good prime rib dinner the Porthole serves a very good one. Seafood there is not my favorite, other places in town are better. Used to be reasonably priced but is now getting pricey. All in all it is a good place to eat.

The Porthole is a place I always go to get my fill of lobster pie when I go home to visit my family in Boston. I think there have been many changes in management or ownership over the years and every time I go the food is different. There are times it's awesome and this last time I went it... More

I have a job that requires me to eat out an average of 3-4 times a week. I know my way around restaurants. Our waitress, Christine was the friendliest and provided the best service i have ever seen. Full Stop. She was perfect. The food was fresh and outstanding. We all ordered seafood. There were 5 of us. Everyone got... More

This is more of a pub than a restaurant - its old school, dated and the food is simple, under seasoned and not very good. I had lobster mac and cheese and regretted it - oily cheese sauce on the pasta and leathery over cooked pieces on top. Service was fine, and its clearly a popular place with an older... More

on a recent visit after a long stretch we went for lunch at the Porthole. Recalling how good their clam chowder always was, we ordered it. What a disappointment! While it is still thick and overflows onto the saucer on which it's served, it had nothing but large potatoes and big pieces of onion in it. Two of us ordered... More

The food is always good and they take great care of the children in the family. We've dined here as a couple, with friends, and with family/grandchildren. They get busy sometimes, but the wait isn't usually long. Good harbor views, good food, good prices.

I have never been so humiliated in my whole life. I have gone there with my husband and my baby for three times already and even though one time they prepared stuffed lobster instead of boiled one as I have ordered, for the three times it went ok. The fourth time was a disaster. First of all, the water was... More
