When my wife and I need good fish, fresh salad, great cooked carrots and a wonderful bread pudding. I like it when it is moist and has more raisins, which it often does. (not always). The service is very good and friendly. Nothing fancy, but the price is right. We love the place.

I ordered their plate of smelts and let me tell ya, they were the best I've had in a long time. I enjoy coming here with my family. When your in the area stop in at the Porthole Pub and enjoy the great food and excellent service.

Another establishment I make a habit of visiting when I'm on the north shore. So many choices of dishes on the menu. I usually order the baked-stuffed Haddock and it is always delicious! (for over 20 years!) Prices are reasonable, service is always friendly and accommodating. The bar is huge! Views of the Boston skyline from the dining room beautiful... More

The seafood here is very good and the prime rib is very good with a decent portions of both. The only issue I ever have is slow service but the atmosphere is very good. They do have outdoor seating which is nice with a view of the water.

We ate dinner on a Friday evening, just four of us, and it wasn't at all busy. It seemed like a perfect night to go visit Porthole after being away for awhile, so off we went. What a mistake. On the positive side, we had a brand-new waitress who was really trying, and we never had issues with drink order,... More

We went to porthole expecting a nice dinner with reasonable prices. When we got there, it took 20 mins for someone to actually ask us what we wanted to drink. 10 mins later we were asked again Becuase the waitress couldn't handle that big of an order (there was 12 people, 3 families all together). Another 10 mins went by... More

I swear they cut up 2 jumbo scallops they were horrible they were flat and the clams were so tiny lucky if you get 8 clams oh by the way loaded with frys and 2 tablespoons of cold slaw for $18.98! Also overcooked! Much... More
