We ate dinner on a Friday evening, just four of us, and it wasn't at all busy. It seemed like a perfect night to go visit Porthole after being away for awhile, so off we went. What a mistake. On the positive side, we had a brand-new waitress who was really trying, and we never had issues with drink order,... More

We went to porthole expecting a nice dinner with reasonable prices. When we got there, it took 20 mins for someone to actually ask us what we wanted to drink. 10 mins later we were asked again Becuase the waitress couldn't handle that big of an order (there was 12 people, 3 families all together). Another 10 mins went by... More

I've been going for years but after last nite, no thanks! Food quality and portions stink! I swear they cut up 2 jumbo scallops they were horrible they were flat and the clams were so tiny lucky if you get 8 clams oh by the way loaded with frys and 2 tablespoons of cold slaw for $18.98! Also overcooked! Much... More

My wife and I were touristing from Boaton to Marblehead and wanted a bite. We were very happy we stopped in. Great NY Corned Beef and Fish & Chips. Just a comfortable place.

Living close to the ocean I have the privilege of having great restaurants around me. The Port Hole is one of the best for seafood. I enjoy everything I eat there but the fried haddock is fabulous, a good size portion and the price is right. We always ask for TRISHA one of our favorites to wait on us but... More

Always a varied menu, ranging from classic seafood favorites to regional fare. If you can get a table along the back wall, there's a nice ocean view. Thursday nights feature karaoke beginning at 8 p.m. Usually there is more "good" than "bad" talent.

This was our first meal after arriving in the area. Food was excellent! Service was a bit slow but the restaurant was packed. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. It was Saturday night, a horse race was on the TV so it was pretty noisy. However, it was nice and cool and the view was very... More

I have lived in Nahant for 30 years. There is not a restaurant on the North Shore at which I have not eaten. However, the Best Meal on the North Shore, bar none, is the Haddock Fra Deavlo at the Porthole, especially if you go Tuesday or Wednesday nights. On Tuesday or Wednesday nights they have in the bar area... More

We enjoy the Porthole for casual dinners and for parties too! The atmosphere is friendly, the food is good and plentiful so come hungry. The Porthole has a great seafood selection and the best prime rib around.
