My wife and I ate at The Blue Ox when we visited Lynn to see Martina McBride. Although we waited almost 50 minutes for a table, the staff was pleasant and amiable. When seated, we wanted to place our order immediately (not to be too late for the concert). The server was amiable and encouraging. Unfortunately, I wanted their "famous"... More

Always fresh, well seasoned ingredients that are thoughtfully combined to create an unforgettable meal. The Blue ox is the perfect place for a group of friends to share wine and have a Fantastic meal! We shared a few appetizers, the spicy tuna tartare with cucumber, cilantro and home made potato chips was one that stands out. It was gobbled up... More

I've been to the Blue Ox on numerous occasions and I can honestly say I've never had anything but a fabulous meal. Their Clam Chowder is the best I've ever eaten! All of the appetizers are top notch and the desserts amazing. I recommend you make reservations on the weekend because they are extremely busy and you wouldn't want to... More

Unnassuming place until you walk in. Lively atmosphere, great food and excellent bartending. Ginny is the best! Always get the oysters, fresh and shucked as they should be, no shell and necks cut. Try the chicken wings, they are outstanding. GREAT place. You have to go.

We arrived at approximately 5:15 for an early dinner and were seated immediately; waited about 5 minutes for the specials to be announced and then the restaurant seemed to come to life. The food was amazing - from the appetizers to the spectacular sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I was told by friends that the restaurant could get loud and... More

From all the talk, we were expecting it to live up to it's expectations. Starting off with the "Pear Martini's"--didn't come out right the first time, nor the second. The hummus was very tart and for some reason made your mouth pucker. Very strange. Entree's , well, we were hoping for the best, but unfortunately the Med rare orders came... More

Food was very adequate - nothing unusual - but the noise level is very high - so much that we would probably not return

This restaurant is huge on extensive fancy descriptions of their plates wonderfully exquistie descriptions. It's a shame the price, portions, and quality don't match them. the restaurant has been packed the few times that I've been there- luckily with a gift card. Many people crowd the bar and the decor is attractive, think old wood stained tables and tin ceiling.... More
