Excellent Dinner Choice

The Blue Ox is an excellent choice for dinner in downtown Lynn. The setting is quite nice, and the service is friendly and attentive. The drinks are strong, and the menu is sophisticated and varied: Fine options are available for those seeking meat, fish or vegetarian dishes.

What a great find. I had two hours to kill in Lynn a recent evening and turned to TripAdvisor to find a good place to eat. It did me right. The lobster tacos were... perfect. Two small flour tortillas full of tasty lobster with a light mayo based dressing, ripe avocado, a little diced tomato, a little heat from somewhere,... More

Great martinis, great food! You can't go wrong going here! The bar is welcoming and the tables are cozy. Wait staff is also very attentive and helpful. Perfect spot for a date or hanging with friends.

This is a great place in the middle of downtown Lynn (not known to be a great place to go at night). Creative menu items, great burgers, phenominal wings (not on the menu but staff will tell you as a special--must get!!). Very busy bar and you most likely will need reservations any night of the week to get in.... More

We sat at a hightop in the bar area. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend the chicken wings for an appetizer and the creme brûlée for dessert. Reservations usually needed. It fills up fast, especially on the weekend.

Some might consider the neighborhood in which the Blue Ox is located as a bit sketchy, but not if you have ever spent time in a major US city. If you are concerned, get over it and enjoy a very nice meal at reasonable prices. My wife and I have been there 4 times over the past year or so,... More

What a wonderful hidden gem. We went as a group for dinner and such an amazing meal, service and atmosphere. Oyster appetizers were great, pork loin was perfect. Wine list and wait staff are great. Lynn gets a bad wrap, but with restaurants like this you've got to give it a chance. The decor is modern, the manager always comes... More

Are you kidding! Pork loin with a delicious mouth-watering maple glaze. Mashed sweet potatoes that I cannot describe with words. Fresh full length grilled asparagus! And a salsa type side with a touch of maple through it. Every time I go here I say two things: I do not want my meal to end and this is the best dinner... More

Made a reservation through Open Table for 8PM for dinner with my girlfriend, while had to wait for 30 minutes. Was told to go to the bar, while it was so packed we couldn't even get close enough to order a drink, so stood and waited in a hallway. Was finally seated at a table near the bar which was... More
