Despite telling them about allergies (and we get vegetarian sushi- with avocado cucumber etc) they put the whole order in one box- with the mayo dressing- so one of my kids who is allergic - to eggs and milk- i could not give the food to. Pricey too. Additionally, we are vegetarian, and when we got home with our take... More

A bit pricey compared to Tokyo, but they have a lot of nice dishes available. I had a nice tempura soba serving today - big serving and very tasty. Service is a bit rushed and although the staff looks Japanese, they seem to have dropped the Japanese way somewhere years ago ;-)

Pieces and portions are small. You have to pay an extra $2 for sashimi, and still only get two small pieces. Rolls are equally stingy. Although the food is good, I hesitate to return based on the portion sizes. The sushi appetizer menu is also lacking in creativity and option.

When my wife and I lived in Japan, a steaming bowl of ramen always hit the spot on a cold winter day when out in the neighborhood. It was bitter cold outside when we left the theater yesterday, so we chose Daikanyama for dinner. We both ordered the Daikanyama Bowl (chicken for me, tofu and vegetables for my wife) with... More

This restaurant was highly recommended to us so we drive 15 mins to next town to try it out for take out Sunday dinner. The food was fair quality/taste, the portions were surprisingly (shockingly) small and it was very expensive! We will NOT be returning to Daikanyama!

....we were there for lunch and ordered off of the special kitchen lunch menu. Both dishes-when they came out-were excellent, the problem was one came out in 10 minutes, followed 10 minutes later by the other dish, and that is unacceptable. However, as noted the food was excellent, a chicken katsu was amongst the best that I had ever had,... More

I dine at Daikanyama at least once a week. Always get great service with a smile and a fantastic meal. They recently renovated their space and created a new and richer than ever menu. If you're into sushi and Japanese food, don't miss this one.

We often visit Lexington to go to the excellent cinema. This past weekend we unexpectedly ran into friends at the theater and they suggested we try Daikamyama after the show. We were happy to oblige as we have wanted to try the restaurant for awhile. The entire experience was excellent. The space is very nice with clean lines and comfortable... More

Daikanyama is consistently very good. We eat there at least once a month. The sushi specials are creative and unique. Food from the kitchen is also quite good. Service is friendly, but not always fast. Best sushi in town, but better can be found at Toraya in Arlington.

Sushi is one of my all time favorite foods. I'll confess though that after eating it often in Japan, I've become more than a little selective when it comes to American Japanese restaurants. The better U.S. restaurants, like Daikanyama, offer a good mix of authentic dishes plus some American creativity with original and unusual maki. I like the daikanyama maki,... More
