Quiet little gem in the Berkshires

Living in the Berkshires full time we find dining out ":off season" a real joy and Rumplestiltzkins is truly a rare delight! The off season menu may have been limited due to the off season but certainly varied. My rack of lamb superb and not only that, with a choice of 4 ribs or 6 ribs & served... read more

This is non existant .....we inquired early in the day, were told to return at night with descriptions of excellant food to be served later- but there was no food or dinners...it was more of dancing gay bar if your into that.

We stayed here for a snowy weekend with a weekend package which included 2 breakfasts and a dinner. I wish we had skipped all three. Breakfast was an extremely limited affair with not enough food and I might have been happier with a continental breakfast at a Holiday Inn. The food was bland, and although not the worst breakfast food... More

I was the lone diner at Rumplestiltzkin's. The restaurant was so empty that I thought it was closed. The wine I first chose was unavailable. The second choice was acceptable. I chose a seafood in phyllo appetizer. It was a little difficult to eat, though the flavors were good. The chicken with ratatouille was dry. The chicken was dry and... More

I've lived in the Berkshires my entire life and just came across this restaurant recently. Went there last weekend, during the "off season" from tourists and such. The menu was limited for this reason but the food was fantastic! The setting is quaint, nothing to write home about. We were seated on the porch near a window, though it's April... More

This restaurant is located in the lower level of a historic inn and the atmosphere is cozy and lovely. Service is really excellent. The menu blends traditional with nouveau which is perfect for the setting. We had the New England pot roast dinner and seared scallops with asparagus and risotto for a mix of old and new. Everything was fresh... More

30 friends and I had a special event dinner planned at Rumpelstiltzkins, starting with wine/hor'douvres in the lobby/lounge that were just delicious and plentiful. The chef was great to work with to plan a special menu for our event and the food was delicious. A lovely place to dine when in Lenox.

In the center of Lenox in a charming old inn a wonderful meal at not an outrageous price. They have a small but very adequate wine list and a small menu as well which I think is always good in a place like that. First off they know how to cook and serve scallops, but the fish stew was excellent... More

We choose Rumplestilzkin's for a special dinner after much reading and reviews of the other options in Lenox - of which there are many. This was my 2nd visit this summer to this restraurant and my Husband's 1st. We liked sitting on the enclosed "porch" overlooking the garden. The staff here is truly excellent. We were very happy with the... More

The chef knows what he is doing. Traditional New England food with a modern flair. Compared to other Lenox restaurants, the menu is more varied and more reasonably priced. We liked the lobster pie, the scallops, and the filet mignon. Tasty and well presented. The service was ok but there was only one server for the entire porch. Although we... More
