Good food, friendly service

We enjoyed our dinner, which included bruschetta, veal piccata, and linguini and clams. The menu offerings were traditional italian and the food was very good. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was casual, fine but not memorable.

Stopped here after a Tanglewood event. Noticed the restaurant going by and decided to stop. We arrived after about 10 minutes after the posted hours but they accommodated us with no hesitation. Had what they called "Veal Mancini" and it was excellent. Served with a side of pasta, sauce was very good. Nice bottle of wine reasonably priced. Service was... More

The service is frenetic and over the top, yet not very effective. The food is decent, but very expensive. The decor/ambiance: pretty bad. The pace of the meal: excruciatingly slow. The cappuccino: the worst thing you've ever ever ever ever had to drink. Seriously: my meal was fine, if pricey, but the coffee was absolutely horrible. It was $4.50 for... More

This was wonderful! Terrific and authentic Italian menu, our waiter Kellan was an absolute delight, and he did not bat an eye at our large party of 9! He started us off with appetizers while we perused the menu (which turned out to be a good idea, more on that later) and the Arancini was fantastic - I had never... More

This restaurant is just minutes from Tanglewood, after the concert that included Beethoven's overture to "Fidelio", and one of his piano concertos, and the piece for string orchestra by Tchaikovsky. The concert was performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

My party of four went to Trattoria Il Vesuvio on a Saturday night. While waiting for a table, the bartender was very accommodating to my daughter and let her sample wine before making a choice. We had the pleasure of having Kellen as our waiter, certainly one of the most upbeat and friendly waitstaff we've ever had! We ordered four... More

The outside of this Italian establishment is very unassuming, but once you step inside the dining room becomes a very charming and cozy place to enjoy the ambiance and savor the superb food. (They do offer a separate children's menu.) The tables are set with pretty white tablecloths and cloth napkins. The wall sconces provide a nicely-lit room... not too... More

This place has fresh delicious food every time. The marinara sauce is delicious, the fresh pasta is cooked al dente and the arancini are wonderful and taste authentic, definitely worth a try! (They are vegetarian). The owners, we heard are from Pompeii and Calabria. We are happy Vesuvio is around for us to come back to. We did spend $50... More

Great food and atmosphere. This is as close to eating in Italy without going there. Every time I have eaten there has been wonderful.

I was very disappointed in the veal parm I got there on Saturday. I was awaiting a return trip from two years ago when I had one of the best veal parm's in my life, but the last one was not good. Maybe they changed chef's or had a bad lot. I will try them again to see if it... More
