After a meal prepared with the greatest attention to detail and replete with a full bounty of culinary pleasures, our food experience at The Wheatleigh was completely compromised by a total mishandling by the manager of a question concerning the bill by one of the members of our party. Even though I was not directly involved in the conversation, it's... More

We celebrated an important family birthday and elected to have the 7 course meal. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff treated us like royalty. The champagne was perfect and the cheese course was to die for. We're already planning our next visit.

It is laughable that other Lenox restaurants are compared to the Wheatleigh. It is not even close. This is a five star, totally upscale dining experience. The other places mentioned are typical small town, overpriced eateries. If you can afford the Wheatleigh, GO, you won't regret it.

Go out of your way to dine here. The view is of the William Olmstead Law garden, the villa has been magnificently renovated, the staff is impeccable and the food can only be compared to the finest in the greatest cities. If you're visiting The Berkshires this is the place.

We ate at the Blantryre on our last visit, and it was an amazing experience. When I read the reviews on this place, I figured we'd try it out, what a disappointment. We had lunch here, in the library. We were one of two couples there, and I can understand why, what I can't understand is how they get such... More

Jeffrey Thompson clearly loves being a chef. You can see it by the sparkle in his eyes and smile on his face. His dishes are creative, beautifully crafted and presented, and fun. Particularly notable is his ability to coax optimal flavor from vegetables without resorting to deep frying. The a la carte dinner is a four course affair. One chooses... More

Private wine cellar tasting menu with wine paring highly recommended. We had 7 courses including cheeses before dessert. The hotel baked a special cake I had requested for my husbands birthday.

We stopped at the Wheatleigh to wander through with future vacations in mind. We were greeted so warmly that we decided to stay for lunch. It was a delightful experience! We enjoyed a peaceful meal with delicious food and a fantastic view. It was an elegant oasis in the middle of a busy sight-seeing day. The luncheon menu was surprisingly... More

The setting is stunning: a glassed in colonnaded portico thrust into a beautifully manicured garden over looking a small green valley. The reception is warm and welcoming. The service by trained European pros is efficient, relaxed, and unpretentious. The menu is quite varied, and the execution delicious. Though not cheap, there is a lot of value in the overall experience.... More

We have dined at Wheatleigh many times over the years, both in the main dining room (simply exquisite) and in the bar (the Library). We have always felt that it was worth every penny (and it costs alot of pennies) because the food was sublime, the service first-rate and the setting (in both dining rooms) and in the hotel's public...
