It's puzzling that this restaurant gets such high ratings. Because a local favorite, Nudel, was closed, we crossed the street and got a table at Alta. Two of us split a salad - the best of our choices, for freshness and quality. The fois gras terrine, however, was less interesting than the toasted brioche served alongside. Two of our party... More

The Alta was recommended by a Townie. The ambience was friendly and the food was good. I ate at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and helpful. I tried the Tofu / Ratatouille / Spinach dish. It bordered on very good, I felt it could be a little more lively with some spice. My dessert of Caramel Apple... More

From what we heard, this was a restaurant not to be missed. Unfortunately, we should have missed it. One of the appetizers, lamb meatballs, was bland and tasteless. Our main courses were OK -- but OK doesn't cut it for the raves we heard. But the finishing touch was the "home-made" cookie for dessert. It was cloyingly sweet and without... More

We ha dinner on a Wednesday. The restaurant was busy. We did find the servers very attentive and helpful. The food was well prepared and very fresh. We had the duck breast and the alta salad, both were excellent. This is our first but will definitely come back.

Had lunch here yesterday and sat inside away from any car exhaust. The restaurant is quite attractive with pleasant ambience. Service was prompt and pleasant but not rushing us to order. I ordered the turkey burger but got talking with my friend so completely that I'm not sure I really got a turkey burger rather than a beef burger. It... More

We went here 2 nights in a row as the food was so delicious and the service attentive. The quinoa salad and lamb meatballs were amazing. I had lamb tagine one night, which I had before, and it was overcooked this time....thus my 4* rating. I know I should have said something but the staff is so nice that I... More

For for dinner .... seated promptly upon arrival and our request to sit on the open porch easily accommodated. in fact all special requests (like turning down the fan, putting sauce on the side, leaving chorizo off the cod) were received with a smile and accomplished. Water and bread brought quickly. No appetizers because we'd had hors d'oeuvres before arriving.... More

We were visiting Lenox for the 1st time during June 2014 and found this restaurant. We sat outside and had a lovely meal with wine. There were lots of clients that were returning time after time, so it must be good.

We were disappointed by our meal at Alta. The food was OK but our table was so close to the others surrounding it, that our waitress had a difficult time maneuvering between the tables. There are many choices in Lenox and we would not return to Alta.
