Over the course of our 3 day stay in the Berkshires, we ate at Joe's 3 or four times. We went originally for the novelty of sitting at the counter that was famous from Rockwell's illustration, but we came back because the breakfast was good. Nothing fancy, but priced fairly and hit the spot. PS Bring cash, they are old-school.

I dropped by for breakfast on a recommendation. A simple setting with tables and a counter which I like when dining alone. I need to watch my fat intake so I ordered oatmeal. I asked for fresh fruit but was told that they did not have fresh fruit. I asked if they had applesauce and they did so I asked... More

Any visit to Lee is not complete without a meal at Joe's, founded 1955. It's still a small-town diner, just like the one that Norman Rockwell painted in the famous picture with the runaway boy (wait! that IS the same diner where he painted the picture). The officer in the picture was Officer Obie from Arlo Guthrie's ALICE's RESTAURANT. Lots... More

Great food at great price. I was advised that this is where the locals go, and loved that it is the actual diner for the Norman Rockwell runaway painting. The atmosphere is the quintessential old fashioned diner. The food was tasty with good portions. There were 4 of us, and we all enjoyed our meals.

Grabbed breakfast here on a Tues at 1030am. Not crowded and it was great. Friendly service, ample coffer and great breakfast (blueberry pancakes and sausages!). An awesome classic stop in Lee, MA.

We stopped at Joe's for a quick lunch and were pleased with the food, but not so much the lack of air conditioning. Menu is typical diner, with all day breakfast (a plus for me), burgers and sandwiches. My scoop of egg salad on a tossed salad was perfect, though not on the menu and my husbands burger special was... More

Great little down home cooking dinner, very funny waitress and the food was outstanding. I had the pancakes big and fluffy, fumy home fries. My partner had the veggie omelet he mentioned it was delish. Simple good food with a little bit of history stop here. Runaway by Norman Rockwell took place here.

Stopped here for breakfast on a weekday morning on our way back home from weekend in Lenox. We wanted to try the spot where the Norman Rockwell famous painting was set. Good eggs and crisp bacon, good cup of coffee in a well worn diner. Could use some maintenance, and a good scrub but that is its charm. Nothing fancy,... More

Stopped with a group of friends for a quick lunch. What a great place. It is where the locals go. Great burgers and fries. Most don't know this diner is the site where Norman Rockwell painted his famous work of the policeman talking to the runaway boy. We didn't until we read one of the reviews. Wonderful food, great service,... More

Joe's Diner has decent food, and even better prices. The service was quick and we were back on the road as we passed through Lee. Joe's Diner is in the downtown Lee area, and it appears to be where all the locals hang out daily.
