Great lunch place

Fresh sandwiches with quality meats. Local fresh bread and handmade ice cream. Chided is delicious but the only type of soup served, I think. Sandwiches are a good size and ran about 8 or $9 each. Would def rec for its fresh sandwiches and very friendly owner. Pristine restrooms, too!

Fresh ingredients, delicious chowder, and adorable atmosphere. Avoid the chains and head here for a sandwich

We stopped here because we didn't want a franchise chain restaurant while traveling through the area. The turkey sandwiches were really good quality, stacked high on fresh wheat bread with slices of tomato and cucumber. The owner made fresh drip coffee at our table and it was wonderful.

stopped by here for lunch on our way to the Lee Premium Outlets. The New England clam chowder was out of this world. It was delicious, very flavorful. Also had the Wildcat Sandwich that was roast beef, cheese, roasted red peppers and horseradish spread. Amazing! The roast beef was the most tender non stringy beef I have ever had. Was... More

Had a nice hot sandwich on a dreary rainy day. Owner very friendly and helpful about bread options. Chibatta bread was great. We're not clam chowder fans and unfortunately it's the only soup they have. Would have liked another soup option.

Yummy! We were greeted with a sample of cheese that was yummy followed a great sandwich with amazing bread and fresh ingredients. Going on a picnic? This is a great place to stop by for some sandwiches to go! We agree skip the chains-support the locals!

You might have to wait a bit, because your sandwich is really made to order. So grab a cup of the chowder to eat while you wait. It is worth it. High quality makes it a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We both were going to the Lee outlets and wanted a quick bite to each. We noticed the Housatonic cafe and gave it a shot. The inside was very homey with relaxing country mountain music playing. We were met by the owner and ordered buffalo bill, and a roast beef, plus an all natural smoothie. The sandwiches were warm and... More

The sandwiches are huge and the service very friendly all in a very cool, old house. Come hungry. You won't be disappointed.
