Our first experience with Peruvian Food

We came across the Alpamay Restaurant on our walk down Main street in Lee and gave it a try, having never tried Peruvian food before. The restaurant is clean and simple. Servers were friendly and efficient. None of the meals were familiar, so we tried the pollo Saltado and Pescado en salsa de... read more

I'd never been to a restaurant offering Peruvian food, but this was a great first-taste experience. I had the paella, which was spicy and hot without being overwhelmingly fiery. The bottled beer from Peru provided a good match. The staff were welcoming and informative, creating a relaxed family feel in what is a busy restaurant.

For my wife and I, this was our first time trying Peruvian food. It was so flavorful. My wife had Lomo Saltado, tender marinated slices of sirloin in a spicy sauce with tomatoes, onions, garlic, french fries and rice. I had Tallarin Saltado de pollo, chicken, spaghetti, onions and garlic. Both dishes were redolent and richly spiced, but not hot... More

This place was such a gem! The food transported me back to Cuzco, it was absolutely phenomenal. I haven't had ceviche that good anywhere in Western/Central Mass. This place is worth a drive, even if you're not in the area. I'm so glad I found this place.

I had lunch here and found it to be OK. Many interesting dishes. Fresh fish soup and chicken and rice was good. A friend had the calamari that was quite good. The service was friendly and efficient. I would go back and try again.

My husband and I enjoyed a hearty Peruvian dinner at this family run restaurant. We were looking for a place to have dinner in Stockbridge, but there was very little choice of places to eat and we drove to Lee. What a great find!! My husband had the beef, Peruvian bean and rice. I had steamed tilapia with onions, peppers... More

We chose this restaurant to try something different. My son had the chicken with spaghetti which also included fries mixed in. My husband and I had the dish with both French fries and rice, one with beef and one with chicken. While the food was hearty it was not anything extraordinary.

We were wondering the streets of Lee looking for a place to eat and stumbled on the Alpamayo. We were delighted with the food and service that we received. Being a Peruvian restaurant the emphasis is on tradition Andean food and we were not disappointed. Highly recommended.

This appears to be a family run restaurant where they take pride in their product. Atmosphere is simple and clean. Ceviche is fantastic. Portion sizes are very generous. Service was a bit slow but still within reason. Six of us ordered six different entrees. All were good. The mixed seafood ceviche (lime-cooked fish/squid/shrimp) appetizer was everyone's favorite by far and... More

We returned here having enjoyed dinner there a couple of years ago. Again we found the food to be good. However, on the evening we were there the place was very busy but had only one wait person. This resulted in waits and an error in our order. With all that to say, we would gladly return.
