Best Restaurant in Kingston

Make sure to check out Solstice the next time you are looking for a nice night out. No need to head to Boston for fine dining. Great service, food, and atmosphere. Oh, and wine list.

this restaurant is housed in an old train station, and is somewhat hard to find due to its location off the main road...It is often quite busy on weekend evenings, so it is best to go when it is less busy, and wait staff are less stressed. The service was impeccable, and the food truly exceptional. We recently visited with... More

We found the food was overpriced and the portions were tiny. I am not a cheap person. I am more than happy to pay a ridiculous price for an excellent and fairly portioned meal. However, what did it for us was the attitude of our waiter. One person in our party ordered a steak dish with the meat cooked "medium".... More

We have been here several times. We enjoy the atmosphere and food. We don't drink alcohol and I feel like every time we eat here the server gets upset when we say we don't want anything to drink. Reading other people reviews I can see that we are not alone in feeling like the service is a bit "snobby". Other... More

I think because Solstice is the most expensive restaurant in Kingston the clientele and the staff act like they are better than me. If I can eat and pay for my meal there, I deserve to be there as much as any one else. I think the fellow diners who must be regulars and some, not all, of the staff... More

Let's be clear I had been to Solstice a few times over the years but stopped after a waiter talked "down" to me on a romantic Valentines Day evening, having to explain the braising of a lamb shank, (because he thought I was an idiot...) Now, back to 2014, we decided to try again, because, it is local and we... More

I have eaten here several times and have found the food a little uneven and the service a little pretentious. This time, the individual dinner pizza and the scallops were good although a friend was disappointed in the lobster, which he described as bland. My coconut cake dessert was too heavy but had a tasty, rich cream cheese icing that... More

My husband and I dined at Solstice last night for our anniversary. We were both impressed from when we were greeted all the way through to the dessert; everything was perfect! We started with the Spring Rolls for an appetizer. They were very tasty and just enough for an appetizer. For dinner my husband had a veal special and I... More

My wife and I went to Solstice on a Saturday night for my birthday. We went late, around 8:30, and we were seated immediately. We just wanted some apps and some wine as we had had a late lunch. We ordered oysters which were very fresh and came with some excellent sauces. We then had the seafood campeche app. It... More

I can understand why Solstice tops the list in Kingston. We finally got there and were more than pleased. Old train stations are always charming especially when trains come roaring by occasionally, but the food is what really delighted us. We both had fish: the wild salmon and the cod special. Each was moist and beautifully prepared. Our waiter pointed... More
