My wife and I traveling thru the area last week. I checked trip advisor and this place popped up. We went and the food was really good. I thought the price was high till I seen the portions. The amount of food they piled on was well worth what they were charging. We had the fried whole belly clams and... More

We have made the hour long drive to The Clam Box in September for the past couple of years. It is becoming our end of the summer tradition. We have also dined at nearby Woodman's. It is hard to get bad fried seafood in the Ipswich/Essex area. Like most of the rest of the Boomers, we watch our cholesterol, so... More

We travel to Maine every year and make a point to go to the clam box for the fried clams. It may take awhile to get your order but well worth it. The food is very good. What I like is at 2;00 pm they change the frying oil, you may have to wait while they reheat but if you... More

We come every year for the last few years and it never disappoints. If you see a line it is worth the wait. Costs may look high, but I find them reasonable if you really look at their own food costs. Worth the stop. Service is always friendly as well.

Travelled out of way to stop here based on reviews. Food is good and portions are large. Two of us split a plate. Limited indoor seating. Picnic tables outside. Would eat here again but not make a special trip to do so.

The Clam Box in Ipswich for years has hands done been the best seafood joint in New England. Last night was the worst experience we have ever had there. The food prices are absolutely friggen absurd. Its cheaper to get a sit down meal at Legal Seafood. There were dozens of flies in the dinning room we had to leave... More

Saw this place on Food Network. Got there about 11:30. Food was not cheap but was good. You order at window and then try to find a place to sit. Fried clams were under seasoned for my liking had better in Rockport. Place is popular. By noon the place had about 20 people in line to order. They do a... More

Great littel place off Highway 133 on our way to the beach. Pricey but the food is delicious and the servings are very generous.
