Best Chowder Ever! Fried clams cooked to Perfection!

Like most of the reviews - Food is the best! My husband claims the Clam Chowder is the best EVER & he orders it wherever we go. The fried clams are full bellied - sweet and fresh, cooked just right. The dinners are huge - good portions of anything one orders. It is a no frills small... read more

I have been reading about this place for years and have wanted to try it out for myself. It was everything I expected. One of the things you should expect is a line out the door as that seems to be part of the experience. You order your food and then have the options of sitting inside the restaurant or... More

People travel many many miles in order to enjoy one of the Clam Box's seafood plates. On a nice weekend in the Summer, there may be as many as 50 people waiting in line to be served. I have heard you can call ahead and order your seafood plate and come by to pick it up. They are closed in... More

The lobster roll was good, BUT it's over priced by a long short. Lobster is currently 5.99 a pound at Market Basket. So at most there was 1/4 lb of meat on a small hot dog bun, that made it look full. That means I paid $19.25 for 4 ounces of meat. Or look at this way it was $78.00... More

When it's fried clam bellies you're looking for, this is the place. There are reasons that there are lines around the block. This is fried clam heaven. They are always perfect ! Success has gone to their head as each summer when we return the prices have taken off and now they try to disguise it by calling it a... More

We waited in line for about 15 minutes to order but it was worth it! The fried scallops are THE BEST I have ever had. Big, sweet and not greasy at all. The fried clam bellies and clam chowder were very good as well.

Always a perfect stop on the way home from the beach. 5 stars for fried food! Even the chicken fingers are excellent, if you don't want to opt for the seafood.

I heard the line is long because they periodically shut down the kitchen to change the oil. My friend and I noticed there was no aroma of oil like you typically smell at fast food restaurants. You can taste the food, not the oil it is fried in.. I ordered the shrimp plate and burger, my friend ordered the clam... More

My family has been coming to the Clam Box for decades. They are the kings of fried seafood (and their lobster rolls are some of the best as well). The Clam Box changes their oil at 2pm every day, so it's always fresh. Their portions are enormous, too. Each fisherman's platter is an overflowing mountain of fried seafood on top... More

We loved the shrimp plate. The shrimp were hugh and my husband had the clam plate with nice big clams. We all loved the tasty cold slaw. Yummy onion rings and fries. Cannot wait to go back. Stopped there on our way back from a great day on Plum Island. We have had clams and shrimp at many places, these... More
