Visited the Clam Box last week (visiting from Florida). The clams were DELICIOUS. However, prices had just gone up for the small bellied clam box (which we were informed by the sign outside and inside the door) and when I went to pay the girl that was taking the order, she said that there was an additional $2 surcharge per... I love clams so when the Clam Box was featured on the Phantom Gourmet I had to try them. If you like fried foods this is the place to go for good local food, the portions are so large that a doggie bag is a must. The line is always very long and the seating is very limited but it... More

How could you come here and not get clams come on now. Clams are a little higher right now because of red tide but how often do you eat fried clams. I got the two way plate scallops and clams with fries and onion rings. My husband got the fried shrimp small box. There were more than enough fries to... More

I had the haddock plate and the fish was the freshest I have had in quite a long time. Onion rings were sweet and not too greasy. I thought that the batter could have used a bit more flavor, the fried items were a bit bland but I left very happy.

For fried seafood on the North Shore this is the place to go. All the people waiting in line in the parking lot can't be wrong. When we think of fried clams, the Clam Box is our #1 choice. We split a seafood platter and have never walked away hungry... One try wand you will keep going back.

One of the best claim plates I had ($24.95). The lobster roll ($18.95) was also very good. When you add the onion rings and french fries, what more could you ask. Get their early to avoid the line outside. Eating tables inside and outside. The cole slaw was runny. Can't tell you about the other food they serve there but... More

It can get crowded on busy summer days, but it is almost always worth the wait. The fried clams are excellent and the chowder is very good. I believe they have menu items that don't involve clams, and I'm sure they're excellent as well, but it's the clams, man, the clams. One word of caution, they do a complete oil... More

We drove over an hour out of our way to eat at the famous Clam Box. It was worth it. The wait was about thirty minutes, the staff was friendly, and the clams were about the best I have ever had. If you consider going, just go.
